Three color decks

By Shadow345, in Star Wars: Destiny

Tried any?

Any Success?

I was thinking with Elite Rey, Rebel Commando and Hired Gun.

Action economy with Rey, reasonable spread of damage sides, some access to resource generation and the 0 and 1 cost dice manipulation cards from all three colors.

Seems like a pretty good idea! One thing that I've noticed is that a lot of the decks that win right now are 2-character decks, preferably with one of the characters being elite. Not to say it can't be done - Phasma/Bala/Trooper made it to second place at the world championships.

I think dice manipulation is good, but honestly most of the dice manipulation cards are pretty equal. Block, Dodge, Parry, and Evade are not actually bad, especially since if you can't use them, there's plenty of ways to discard them and get something for them. He Doesn't Like You and Electroshock are just nasty, as is Isolation. So blue/yellow villains kinda have it made.

Honestly, now with SoR, I just think that all 6 factions have a pretty good amount of anything you can ask for, and while some are better than others, I just don't see a lot of ways that you need all the options from three different factions.

That, and single-dice characters are pretty weak. Basically, think of it this way. If all the dice on a character are equal (so you're putting only lightsabers on Darth Vader or something like that, in this example), the second dice increases efficiency by 100% (100% more dice), whereas the third dice increases efficiency by 50%, the fourth dice by 33%, and the fifth dice by 25%. Basically, having a character start with twice as many dice is just a huge efficiency bonus that lasts the whole game.

I like the thought though! I definitely think that mill decks could benefit from three characters. I just think if you're playing the normal pew-pew version of this game, a few elite characters will probably help you more.

I've played a Two Trooper, Nightsister, Guavian Enforcer deck to some good results. The weakness is Poe/Maz and Salvo, which is a large enough weakness that the deck will likely never make top tier. The concept is to run the most economic upgrades from each color, while having access to the best control from each color as well.

It's a lot of health to churn through and when you lose a character the impact is less than if you lost an elite. Redeploy upgrades should be the focus. If you can kill one Elite before three of the four of yours are off the board, you should then have a better board state and be able to finish the opponent.

A three colours deck just screams to have Mothma. Period :P

I'm mulling over FN-2199 / Tusken Raider and either Dooku (most likely) or Kylo. Really just want to make the best use of available weapon options for Nines, so 3-color might be the way to go.
