X-Wing World Championship Finals lists- what do I buy?

By simplebut, in X-Wing

Hi Everyone!

First time posting- I hope this is the right place for the thread!

I found this graphic of the lists used in the final of the X-Wing world championships. I was wondering what products I need to buy to be able to recreate both lists in full :)

Thanks for the help!

You can also buy individual upgrade cards on places like Ebay, which may be cheaper than buying a bunch of different models.

Guidance chips is also available with Inquisitor's Tie.

Anything but the ships that are ruining the game.

Righto! I may have missed a couple.

If you build a squad in Yet Another Squad Builder , it will list the expansions that each card is available in. Plus, you can save your personal "collection" so you always know how many copies of each card you have -- it's a great site!

So. You wanna be like everyone else huh? Interesting.

Those lists were both pretty unique anti-meta builds.

There are X-Wing apps that tell you the availability of cards and exactly what expansion(s) you need to buy to acquire the cards. I use X-Wing Companion and Startactics X.W.

Ummmmmm?!? Upgrades perhaps, but:

K-Wing Miranda? NOT unique

T-65 Biggs? NOT unique

Dengar Jumpmaster? NOT unique, Tel as pilot, not so much competitively.

T-70 Jess? ok, ONE ship/pilot out of both squads was truly unique.

I mean come on, Punishing One is unique, it even has that little dot next to the name!

ABT Miranda is pretty weird. It's nothing like the Miranda we've all been fighting since wave 7. The Dengar build was completely unique. It doesn't operate anything like the Dengaroo we've all faced.

These are weird, difficult lists to fly. Scolding someone because they have a few common cards or won a tournament isn't very productive.

And maybe you will get off of your high horse?
In contrary to you most people are not elitist prigs - thus got nothing against playing against netlists.
In fact I prefer this way of playing, games are harder and I got much bigger challenge to overcome with my own lists.

If he wants to build both lists, he needs jumpmasters anyway so no reason to buy another ship

The Miranda build is definitely nonstandard. The dengar build is also nonstandard, and tel is...not at all a thing competitively. Might be a jumpmaster stil, but definitely unique as a build option. And Jess as pointed out.

I in no way take anything from elite players in this awesome game, I was making a finer point in the actual power of the base-line and pilot ability stats of the cards that keep showing up at the top (not the unique mods therein, of which I have no issues):

I'm curious. How many people at tournaments play extremely similar lists? Btw. I'm too tall to ride a horse. :(

But you are assumptive just enough to mock how one want to play this game.

Take note that Veteran Instinct should be freely avaible in any local gaming community as the card was handed out as price for participation in tournament kits in 2016.

Are we still in a K-Wing shortage? If so, the double Jumpmaster list might be easier to get the pieces to. Cheaper too, from @SEApocalypse 's calculations.

Compared to X-wing 101, you'd need another $40 in this for the core set. And I disagree this is "stagnating" the meta when it came fairly out of nowhere.

At least in my home town we have a few K-Wings left of the last reprint, which was iirc the fourth of those. Those things really sold like hot chocolate. I would guess many people have more K-Wings than Falcons ^_^
Still from the latest reprint should be a few left. And more than 3 K-Wings you can not bring to a 100pts list anyway, so I doubt that we will see another shortage anytime soon. :)

It same old same old, the innovation is mainly that it is so darn cheap. The design team seems to aim for $200 lists as tier 1, you can follow it trough all the years, this one is extremely cheap, and technical you don't need the core set for it. Damage decks go for 2 bucks on ebay and you are allowed to share dice and templates with your opponent. ^_^
