I am very much not an experienced ace player, so my opinions are probably not to be counted on too much, but I think that the offensive threats to aces will usually overwhelm the stealth device, so offense and maneuver become more important. Targeting computer goves you offense and a point of initiative.

I never thought of it that way. There should be no need to have the stealth device if you are an ace. Youwould want to be in a position that you wont get hit much anyways and to throw the heat back at them. Thanks for the insight.

I have quickdraw and fel. Just need a third ship that i can get in there for less than 32 points. What is a good viable option? Having a lot of trouble.

I guess the Inquisitor (Standard build) is a good fit at 31pts.

I've been working on a Fel, Quickdraw build that uses the Duchess as the third ship. Quickdraw has Targeting Sync to help Fel and Duchess push more damage through.

What is your Quickdraw build?

I like this idea of targeting synch for Fel. This way you can get both SD and targeting computer essentially.

Just for clarification if QD has a lock on a target, Fel can spend that lock to re-roll his red dice right? I think that is what the new FAQ clarified, just need to be sure. Any way to get 2 SFs and Fel together with the TargetSynch(s)?

Edit: No, no there isn't. Is QD better than BD with Fel?

You can indeed use the Targeting Sync to allow Fel to reroll his dice from his regular attack. As you say, it gives Fel the best of both worlds if he takes Stealth Device for himself.

QD is usually; lwf, spec ops training, fcs, and jumping around with the ept. I have predator on it right now. And now that i know about the targeting sync ill be putting that on.

Something like this?

"Quickdraw" (39) - TIE/SF Fighter
Predator (3), Fire Control System (2), Targeting Synchronizer (3), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

Soontir Fel (35) - TIE Interceptor
Push The Limit (3), Royal Guard TIE (0), Autothrusters (2), Stealth Device (3)

"Omega Leader" (26) - TIE/FO Fighter
Juke (2), Comm Relay (3)

Can be good. But is there something as cheap but still can hold its own than omega?

Duchess, AA, LWF and VI also comes in at 26pts. I'll be testing it tonight and can give any feedback.

That would be greatly appreciated. I dont know when ill get the chance to test it myself but if you beat me to it then great.

I've recently been using Vader, and he has been terrific vs Fenn. Range 2, no problem.

Inquisitor is deadly vs Protectorates, shutting off autothrusters and range bonus, making only range 1 safe for them. Only 31pts, well worth it right now in the meta, even with the boogiemen around. Just love his ability.

My list:

(35) Vessery w/ VI + MK.II + x7 Title

(34) Backdraft w/ Swarm Leader + FCS + LWF + Title

(31) Inquisitor / PTL + AT + Title

Total: 100

Definitely one of my favorite imp lists at the moment along with Kylo: Take 33 . I really think Imperials need to take advantage of Swarm Leader since other factions really have to work for it, when Imps get free evades with x7, or Tie/V1. You dont need to maximize two extra dice every round. Just one extra dice is nuts and pushes damage through. Look how feared Sabaac is with that extra die attack, or Rey with Finn die. You can make anyone hit like Sabaac for 3pts.

I had tried swarm leader on vader before and on sabaac. Sabaac was a huge glass cannon. But keeping him in range one of a nine friendly and them having swarm tactics, shooting first can become a huge problem. But i didnt expect him to last after that. Which if i remember correctly, he didnt. Lol

Yeah I tried the Sabacc Swarm Leader as well. Glass cannon indeed. It was fun though. Lol.

I had a thought on how i would like to try flying some ships. Has anyone tried a "hit and run" kind of game? Go in for the attack then take off then come back in for another and then take off again? Is there any success in a game being played that way?

I've never built a list specifically for such a tactic, but sometimes situations will call for that. I've done it plenty of times. I stay in the mindset I don't HAVE to get a shot every turn. Sometimes it's best to disengage in order to setup a better situation. Like if I know there is a high chance that a Defender will get its 4K blocked, or there's just way too much traffic in front of me to get a clean maneuver, I'll just full throttle it past everything.

That helps a lot. Thanks. Never really thought of that either. If you were to make a list specifically meant to be played that way, whats the best options?

I gave it a go today, and like most aces a bad roll can really ruin your day. I played a variety of lists, with varying results -munitions really hurt interceptors, but are super resilient to TLT - as expected. As a whole, I'm definitely worried about Soontir's viability over a days tournament, but I had a great time flying him again.

Regarding Targeting Sync: I found that spending Quickdraw's TL to shoot with Soontir meant that his ability was weakened somewhat so I wasn't really convinced this was a good option. You really want his extra attack to be threatening, and that TL can go a long way to achieve that. I wonder if Backdraft is better suited to this role?

I played a final game subbing in a LW Vader instead of Quickdraw and had a much better time - partly due to my love of arc dodgers, as I still haven't got to grips with the SF just yet.

I would still like to hear your results, I hope the games go well!

I dont have soontir just yet. Should be getting him tomorrow or this weekend. Whats your thoughts on running turr instead? Get a range three attack and then barrell roll out of arc?

I like the ships, but swapped some upgrades around. I am liking the new TargetSynch interactions to get SD back onto Fel.

Soontir Fel (27)
Push the Limit (3)
Autothrusters (2)
Stealth Device (3)
Royal Guard TIE (0)

"Pure Sabacc" (22)
Predator (3)
Lightweight Frame (2)
Adaptive Ailerons (0)

"Quickdraw" (29)
Predator (3)
Fire-Control System (2)
Targeting Synchronizer (3)
Guidance Chips (0)
Special Ops Training (0)

This is just my play style but I'm not a fan of Baffles. Added pred in case someone else (Fel) uses his FCS TL. Had a few points left to help out Sabbac's mods.

Interesting, I wonder if soontir's stealth device is worth no pattern analyzer, though I do like more mods for Pure Sabacc.

For those discussing Soontir, I'd strongly consider hull upgrade if you are in a bomb heavy meta.

Are triple SF viable? They seem like they should be quite the trio.

Been working on it. Get two together with target synch and they share each others TLs. Its similar to three T-70s. Not sure if three is the magic number. Two and an ace arc dodger, or big hitter (tie D Vess or Bren) seems like the sweet spot. My brother has a nasty alpha strike with Backdraft,Omega S/F, and Deathfire. Target synched up and missiles. Wiped out my autothruster snap wexley in one round.

How would his list fair against say, two large ships like two flacons?
