IG

By ImperialOfficer, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

I'm looking forward to the new attachment card for IG-88, should let him get some table time.

I'm having a tough time with list for him though. He doesn't have to have support, but the added cards from scheme/scomp is nice.

Looking at scum list with temp for gideon, haven't focused on empire yet, but maybe that's the better way to go.

Anyone ready to go with IG-88?

There are plenty of droid command cards now, I'd just start by playing Mercs, and leave Gideon out. You'd be better off with R2D2 and maybe even MHD-19 to heal IG after Blaze of Glory, Navigation Upgrade, etc.

12 IG88 w/upgrade

8 HK Droids

8 HK Droids

(you could mix in several 1 pt upgrades here like Prey on the Weak, Trusted Ally, Scavenged Weaponry)

6 R2 D2 and/or Chopper w/1 temp alliance

Fill the rest with jawas or ugnaughts or other similar figures. (jabba always does well to focus the HK and get the extra cards or attacks)

With an Elite Jawa Scavenger you won't need the Temporary Alliance.

I was talking with another competitor at Worlds, where we were able to use the new wave in the 4 player Skirmish matches, and we came up with this silliness:

Iggy w/upgrade

Temp Alliance

Jedi Luke

eJawa

BT-1 (who is really powerful)

Threepio

Smuggler

Trusted Ally

Devious Scheme

We figured that Luke and Iggy together can make a dream team of multi activation, hard hitting Heroes to wreck face. eJawa can hit like a truck with a focus token as well as BT-1 and his 4 dice attack. Time will tell if this is any good, of course.

Interestingly two guys in our local area came up with the same build. It's been dubbed the three amigos. First time I played against it was with imps on jabbas palace and I won through a combination of holding objectives and jumping into the rancor pit to stay alive longer. It does punch out some stupid amounts of damage.

I think that a droid-centric squad will be a great way to go for Iggy.

  • 12 Iggy, with his FotK upgrade
  • 8 regular HK Assassins
  • 6 Jabba
  • 4 0-0-0
  • 4 Chopper (because wrecking your opponent's terminal plans is fun)
  • 3 elite Jawa
  • 2 C-3P0
  • 1... pick a 1pt upgrade: Devious Scheme, Black Market, Trusted Ally (for BT and Iggy friendship)

Some people will want BT-1 in there, so they could drop Jabba and/or Chopper and some stuff to make room. I'd replace Jabba with BT-1, but the Jawa only allows you to bring in 3 foreign deployment cards, not 4.

I've found that 0-0-0 is excellent, so I wouldn't want to drop him if I could avoid it. But maybe some Hired Guns for 4pts could replace either Chopper or 0-0-0 if needed.

But keep 3P0. HKs love him because he doesn't move far, and they don't want to move up too far either. Oh yeah, and they really like to be Focused. Really, a lot!

I suggested the IG-88, Jedi Luke combo shortly after the IG-88 fix was announced, combined with BT-1 they get 7 potential attacks per turn between 3 activations. Seems like it has to be powerful in some capacity..

I'm excited to get this wave and start testing it out.

that doesn't leave much for other guys

12 Luke

temp alliance 1

12 IG

3 eJawa

6 BT

6pts for 4 other jawas to up the activations?
