Community Building

By SoulSteel, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

So, I am on the older side of life and am not familiar with the online communities out there - Reddit seems a bit daunting and Twitter I don't even know where to begin - I am diving head first into them no matte what. I have a great excitement for L5R and am currently trying to drum up interest in the game for my local community. I have the FFG forums that I can point people to and the Wiki for the a setting and history, even though it have been through a reboot it can still be valuable for new people to get a feel for the world. Is there any other site or resource that you all would recommend highly? I want to make sure that I am not overloading my players, but I also want to do this right and give them the tools if they want to go out and look up information if they are so inclined. I, of course, will make myself available to them because you have to put in the work to build a strong, quality community.

Also if there are any players in Melbourne/Palm Bay area of Central FL. I have created a Facebook group for Space Coast Legend of the Five Rings.

The l5r reddit moves slowly but is a good place. It's been undergoing s resurgence and becoming so much more active than it ever used to be.

I believe there is a wiki in the works for the new time line. Personally, I wouldnt use the old wiki because we have no idea what will be the same, and I'm hoping nothing.

Lastly, the l5r Discord server is very active and still growing. Discord is a voice and text chat program. You can be subscribed to multiple servers, and there is an L5r one. You will need to download Discord, it even has a mobile app which I use almost exclusively. I will edit with the server link

And despite of all of this there is http://l5rlcg.de/ . Even though we are the german community fanpage you can still read the website with the translation button. We try to make interesting content and give players old and new a home with all informations about the game :)

The actual L5R Facebook group is a well-established community hub.

Should have thought about that. Thank you.

Not sure which wiki project you are refering to, since the is the old one on wikia and the new one on gamepedia.

The new one deals just with the new game from FFG.
