Rebels old and new

By Kreen, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Working on a new list, and after bringing what proved to be some very nasty lists to my local store the past few times, I want to give something less serious a try. Also, nobody wants to be "that guy" for too long.

So, what do you guys think? Does this have a leg to stand on, without being evil?

Ezra Bridger (20) [28]

  • Rage (1)
  • Twin Laser Turret (6)
  • Inspiring Recruit (1)

Captain Rex (14) [14]

Sabine Wren (TIE Fighter) (15) [24]

  • Push the Limit (3)
  • Kanan Jarrus (3)
  • Black Market Slicer Tools (1)
  • Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
  • Sabine's Masterpiece (1)

Wedge Antilles (29) [34]

  • Push the Limit (3)
  • BB-8 (2)
  • Integrated Astromech (0)

Total: 100

Ezra is a cockroach, flying around the outside taking Raged TLT shots whenever he can. Sabine is a tricky ultra-maneuverable fighter, able to end up basically anywhere from anywhere. Wedge is a bit of a hard hitter, and Rex is there to fill out points, to stay on theme, and to grant Wedge some protection if he can.

If you guys have any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them! Thanks in advance.

Without the ability to deal out stress, is BMST more thrown on to chew up the last point, or did you have a plan for that? There could be an argument made for Wedge to have R3-A2 to deal out that stress, but that would mean a different EPT.

Sometimes I feel the best advice is just saying how you'd attack a squad, which could help you figure out how to defense against such an attack. Wedge would be the clear primary target, going through Rex first if he proves to be a pain. Next would be Ezra, then Sabine. I think if Wedge dies quickly, then this list would lack the firepower to get the win.

BMST is definitely just thrown on because. I might trade it an TIE mkii for an EMP though, as that doesn't bother Sabine as much as it does other ships.

This list definitely does lack somewhat in firepower without Wedge, that is a good point. Although that is something that Tie fighters are always going to suffer from, and I am wanting to fly at least Sabine with a similar loadout. With that in mind, is there anything else really lacking? Or anything I could/should replace?

Hmmm...not sure. That seems like an expensive Sabine. She'd be fun to fly and super squirrely, but would be little more than a gnat to ignore until they decide to swat her. Have you flown her yet, to see just how useful that repositioning is?

Her repositioning is insane, as she could be almost anywhere from anywhere. It makes her very hard to pin down, and in one v one she is not going to get shot by a ship without a turret or additional arcs.

The issue is, as you've said, her damage output. I could definitely drop Kanan and BMST to free up 4 points, but I'm unsure of where to put them then.

I guess that'd be my biggest concern. Any 360 turret would probably blow her up pretty quick.

I really don't have a good idea where to spend any free-up points. Maybe move on from someone other than Wedge? Maybe a T-70? Maybe Norra?

Fair enough. Thanks for the advice, I'll maybe do some mods, or maybe just take it for a spin. I'll do my best to leg you know either way.

Yeah, definitely fly it and see how it goes. I think many of us drop a list before even trying it out, probably to the detriment of creativity.
