Force & Destiny: Planetscape - My new Jedi Order

By RusakRakesh, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

My current campaign, that runs for a year now, was based around a very complex notion. Rebuilding of the Jedi Order post order 66. How would it look like, feel like, who governs it, how... and mostly, how is it different or not, from the former Jedi Order. I am showing here an example, to share with you my ideas and how my party shaped this new order circa 5 BBY. Campaign still running of course...

"New Force Order"

Main principles-

1. Paradigm of Balance and Change . The masters believe that the previous order was stagnant or in constant imbalance, from around the dawn of the republic up until the Clone Wars and the dark times forced it further into change. In effort to upkeep the new order, balance must be restored and changes of paradigm must be made. The order in its current new form, will change again once it gains balance. This are merely Its first steps that will shape the next cycle of the order.

2. Councils are formed to govern certain aspects. Council of Masters for legacy keeping and counsel. Council of Seers to look for other force sensitive and warning against danger. Council of Knights to act upon the other two councils counsel.

3. The Jedi are no more, we are the servants of the Force. Old traditions are legacy to be kept, new legacies are built, fit for a new age or preparing for a new age. Names, terms and ways will transform according to discussion and heart of the order's members.

4. The Dark Times must be put to an end.

Inner workings of the councils and members-

1. Council of Masters- Discussing what legacy is kept, how to govern certain elements in the order, promotion of ranks and formation of new councils. Also acts to approve certain long term actions (Council of Knights to support formation of the Rebellion, for example).

2. Council of Seers- Seeking new members or former Jedi and gathering of lost lore and information. Some special positions may protect the new legacy from harm (For example, investigation of the deviations from former Jedi norms, or dark side and other formerly forbidden and shunned traditions and views).

3. Council of Knights- The hands of the New Force Order. Some knights may form small councils to handle certain action the order wish to do like training, strategy, and special projects/initiatives.

4. Auxiliary members- Certain non force-sensitive members may provide support in many ways, including logistics, combat and academics.

5. New ranking system- Youngling (Any force sensitive pre-teen), Acolyte (Any force sensitive teen, must pass tests of skill to advance), First Acolyte (Special rank given to exceptional trainees who may gather other Younglings and Acolytes to share knowledge in class form), Padawan (Any who was giving the right to train under a knight), Knight (Any who was giving the right to train under a master), Master (Legacy rank, may change with time. Held only by former Jedi Masters).

Current members roster-

Council of Masters-
Hethan Romund (F&D beginner game)- Explore Corp, called for jedi to save the Dawn Temple. Holds in the opinion that the jedi order must change, and keep low to avoid further destruction to it.
Sinta Vel (Group Master)- One of the party's former master who saved him from Order 66. Militant and aggressive, believes the order needs to keep the Clone Wars legacy and be warrior leaders.
K'kruhk - Saved by the party from Weik, along with the younglings he evacuated from Dantooine. Pious force traditions scholar, wishes the new order be more force focused, less combat.
Elder Hena, Elder Crow'na, Elder Sigda- Three force sensitive Seers. Old woman that govern the Dawn Temple villagers.

Council of Seers-
Cho Goning (Former PC)- Knight Consular. Seer from the Baran-Do tradition and generally a strong force user of many talents.
Awoko- Zabrak Mystic saved from the sith temple on Spintir. Former Dawn Temple healer.

Dao Naruc (F&D beginner game PC)- Miraluka seer. One of the first to be called by Romund to Dawn Temple.
Koh Helshare (Chronicles of the Gatekeepr NPC)- Sithari seer and pious in the ways of the force, as the Sithari perceive it.

Fin Daybraker, Human Sentinel (PC)
Zing, Cathar Seeker (PC)
Nash, Human Counsular (PC)
Jits, Human Healer (PC)

Younglings- 1

I hope you remember that gathering a large group of force users in a single place is an excellent way to allow Vader or even the Emperor to sense your presence, the Dawn Temple's nearby vergence isn't going to be able to shadow such a concentrated amount of force energy.

Unless it takes place after the fall of the Empire. I've considered doing something like this with my group.

Well it depends what I and the party want for the campaign. Eventually, they will be chased and found, thats the idea :)
