Pattern Analyzer Question

By Warlon, in X-Wing

Here's a scenario.

T-70 equipped with PA does a k turn, takes action before stress is given using PA.

Next turn, performs white maneuver.

Can he still use PA to perform an action? I assume he can't do free actions after the maneuver since the "check pilot stress" step is part of the maneuver itself.

No.

You cannot perform actions if you're stressed. Ever. Chopper crew and Tycho are the exceptions. E: and Primed Thrusters.

The 'check pilot stress' step is something of a misnomer - it would more accurately be called 'update pilot stress' - it's the step where you update your stress based on the colour of the move you did, no more, no less.

No. You can't perform actions while stressed, and Pattern Analyser does nothing to change that. Pattern Analyser just changes when you add/remove stress when executing a maneuver.

This should be posted in the Rules forum but to answer your question, no, actions can only be taken if you are not stressed. In the turn that the T-70 did the K-turn, he was unstressed because the stress token was not assigned until the "check for stress" step which was moved to after the action step. In the following turn, the stress token is already there. So when it comes time for the Action step, it cannot perform an action because it is stressed at that moment.

Cool, thanks.

Primed Thrusters is also an exception along with Chopper and Tycho. But only for BR/Boost

Unkar Plutt doesn't allow you to perform an action whilst stressed. He only allows you to do one if you bumped; it needs a specific exception on the card to do it if you're stressed..

Incidentally, primed thrusters let you action when stressed (boost/barrel roll only). Handy for BB-8 T-70's.

Valid, amended, thanks.
