Lot of people play in Northern Virginia. Most of the game stores in the area have a weekly (or at least monthly) event. Join novasquadron on facebook for more on dates/locations.

Wednesdays at Island Games in Centerville is fun. There's Monthly tournaments at both Huzzah Hobbies and Island Games.

Curio Cavern in Springfield is supposed to be a great location for X wing but I've never been. I like Island a lot.
