+1k0 question

By player2391703, in Legend of the Five Rings: The Card Game

The following question was sent to me by one of my players. Here's his question (in italics):

Would you please clarify something for me? Here are two statements about dice rolls from the rules:
A) The character receives a bonus of +1k0 to the total of all Stealth Skill Rolls made in wilderness environments.
B) The damage of all unarmed attacks is increased by +1k0.
To me, A) means “roll the normal (x)k(y) dice, then roll an additional d10 and add that to the total.” While B) means “roll an additional dice, but keep the normal number - i.e., roll (x+1)k(y).”
I assumed option B was the correct answer to both, but am I mistaken?
Thank you for any insights.

I'm quite sure you are correct, I couldn't find a direct reference in the rules however. The thing is that +1k0 translates to 'an additional rolled dice', so it affects the dice pool not the result. Option A would probably be worded as 'chose a die, it explodes' like in the Dark Paragon: Perfection advantage.

Yeah, A) can't be correct, because that is essentially +1k1 - roll one die and keep it. Since you do not keep the extra die, it cannot come after the actual roll.

Therefore both are equal and improve your dice pool.
