Zekka Thyne

By DJSII, in Star Wars: The Card Game - Rules Questions

Zekka is already in play, but DS plays Show of Force to bring some of his cohorts out for a turn. After the conflict is over, DS dutifully discards all his Black Sun minions, but is claiming he intended to use this play to remove Zekka from play, thus activating his thermal detonator destroying all cards in play (most notably LS's Luke & Yoda). LS claims "discard" does not equal "destroy" and therefore Zekka's Forced Interrupt doesn't trigger. I think LS is right. Does the Great Clarifier agree?

Am I the great clarifier?

Show of Force will not trigger Zekka. Not all ways of leaving play are being destroyed. Cards are destroyed when they have damage equal to their damage capacity or when an effect uses the term "destroy."

One of them. :D

Aggression (or other ways to Sacrifice a unit) also do not trigger Zekka. Useful if you play him early but decide you don't want to wipe the board.
