The founder of #teamvenator is here. Bow down to his greatness. That prayer was beautiful. Brought a tear to my eye my friend.

And that, is why I paged him.

lol excellent point. That is a really ugly ship and wouldn't t look right with the other imps. The red ruins it for me.

And lead us not into destruction...

But deliver the rebellion into our hands...

For thine is awesomeness and the sleek design (jarjar doesn't have sweet upper hanger doors)...

A long time ago and far far away amen

Nice to see the usual # TeamVenator members here :)

Where do I sign up for #teamvenator...

Is there a lengthy interview process or do I just pledge my undieing loyalty to seeing an armada venator.

I can get references.

Haha

You may join the church of Venator....

Just need to paint 16 squadrons of tie fighters.

$w@rmlyf3!

I painted over 100 Squadrons of TIE Fighters alone, last year...

... Who wants to claim under that Bounty? ;)

The Venator can also be red with the rebellion...it doesnt JUST need to be Imperial.....dont be greedy

while the rebels might have one or two (much like the Quasar class carrier) , the Empire is the main user, so it should get the class.

however you could easily give the Rebels Consular C21 refits to go alongside their Pelta's. and the Rebels apparently make use of a number of the leftover Seperatist ships during the GCW, so a Munificent class Frigate in rebel colors might fit well too. or maybe a Lucrehulk carrier? (that one has appeared in a canon novel)

I wouldnt mind the Lucrehulk as the counter to the Venator, but they both would need to be able to deploy additional fighters for half the cost or some unique ability like that would be nice

or perhaps a boosted range for controlling fighters? with the carrier model's large capacity for fighters, it should have a fairly high squadron value. being able to tack on a few extra inches to the range by which those can be used could make it a useful centerpeice for a fleet.

and the battleship variant could be tougher and have heavy firepower.

though both would be offset by slow speed and sluggish maneuvering, going by the films and The Clone Wars show. but if the firepower is distributed right, that won't matter as much.

the only issue is that at 3 kilometers across in the setting, the Lucrehulk figure would be even bigger than the ISD..

Do they have to be painted well? Cause they won't be....

I prefer to "borrow" the chief designers and "encourage" them to add the Venator and a few other designs :D

For what it's worth, if I remember correctly, we did see Imperial gray Venators at the end of Revenge of the Sith. They seem to have repainted them very quickly....

Sorry for the link, but linking images isn't my strong suit.

So you are against another large ship to throw on the battlefield and use as a command vessel? <,< I think you might need to readdress your issue. Especially if you ever want to see the Imperial SSD on the table any time, you Imperial Scum.....

never said i was against it, just that something even bigger might have production and sales issues.

Are you sure the Lucrehulks are so much larger too? I cant imagine the ships being THAT much larger then a star destroyer, if anything i always thought them smaller by a little bit, especially vertically.

The lucrehulk is 2,400+ meters long. As it's almost a donut it's width is basically the same. According to the wiki machine at least but this was always my understanding. The lucrehulk is bigger than the ISD. I think the width could be an issue for large base but I don't think they would increase the base size to XL. I think if we see rebel sep ships it would be the P rovidence-class dreadnought (invisible hand), Recusant-class light destroyer(commerce guild destroyer) and or Diamond-class cruiser (banking clan Frigate).

The problem with those choices, they arnt very rebel like, The thing that makes the Venator and Lucrehulk more rebel like is the fact that both ships can play the role of a complete mobile Base of operations by themselves, simlar to how the Home One is portrayed in most Expanded Universe content, its where you launch from for missions in the Rogue Squadron titles, you have a giant hanger bay in Return of the Jedi, (Far larger then in the games) and it usually isnt the first ship into combat, dispite it being arguably one of the strongest firepower ships the rebellion has in its fleet at the time of ROTJ. Its honestly the one thing that annoys me in Empire at War, all the "Carrier" vessels the rebellion has, Venator, and Home One, both do not display there hanger bays, and at the Very least, they could allow them to deploy Z-95s (Venator) and a squadron or two of X-wings (Home One), but that feature is left primarly for the empire and its various star destroyers, ironicly in my eyes the Acclimator actually is portrayed with a Hanger bay that can deploy two tie fighter squadrons and a tie bomber squadron from it, and from what I thought the ship was only for direct space combat or just a giant deployment vessel for ground forces, and NOT a carrier in any way.

Rebels are by default the hit and run style of combat, and there bases are usually designed very easily able to be abandoned and bare bones, as most of the backbone is in command ships with in the rebel fleet.

The Empire uses Star Destroyers in a simlar fashion, but are built to allow them to lay stationary like giant space stations for extended blockades around systems, and there fighter squadrons are proof of that as 89% of them do not have the Hyperdrive capability that would allow more fluid tactics for the Galactic Empire.
