I'm not overly fond of mixing politics with my hobbies, but I'll join in for one post. Net neutrality is a good idea if and only if you believe our current network infrastructure and policies are fully mature and no longer subject for advancement. It kills off incentives to improve, and in some cases makes it illegal to do so (at least, under the regulations currently under consideration.) Net neutrality is really price controls on transmission infrastructure, and that runs us into the iron law of economics. Price controls cause shortages. Every time.

Anyway, for me on this board, it'll be back to L5R after this one digression. In the end, I want to be sure people see it's not unanimous that this is a good idea ;)

Fair enough. That is a valid counter argument. Though considering the shape of modern business is trending more and more to being a completely online affair this just puts so much power at the feet of the people running the communication networks. Whatever progress this might spur on is greatly tempered by the sobering amount of influence you'd be giving to the telecom industry. Also I think history has shown us that reckless deregulation can be just as destructive since it opens up vulnerabilities to abuse and volatility in the market place.

ADD: and that's not even getting into the topic of free speech on the internet and what deregulations might mean in that arena.

I just finished listening to the latest episode and found it amazingly meta. I too love the I Can Swim story but equally important, how it is story within the story of Bayushi and Shinsei, how Shinsei was telling Bayushi and Bayushi trying to interrupt saying he already knows how the story goes. When Shinsei finishes with I Can Swim, Bayushi says he understands where in Shinsei belts Bayushi across the face and tells him his eyes betrayed his mouth. Bayushi tears off some cloth, makes a mask and says now he understands. Well, when the host (forgive my ignorance of names) thought the scorpion in the parable was lying and they both still died, I instantly thought of Bayushi saying first that he understood the story when he really didn't. It really made me smile.

Hey everyone! In addition to Ep 19 we have also put out out first first Rob's Rong Reviews. We know plenty of people are reviewing cards and Rob gives it a go. Turns out he is often wrong though. Seems strange that everything is either meta warping or completely garbage.

However, sometimes technology fails. Promptly after recording, one of our hard drives corrupted totally and we lost 1/5 of the entire episode. instead of trying to piece something together and fool you and future li steners, we have opted to not release this week and instead put out this weeks Rob's Rong Reviews for free to all on our Patreon.

Depsite this set back, we will be recording in the discord next week and this will not upset our schedule. We aren't sure the exact details of what our next episode is yet, but this won't stop us from releasing another episode in 2 weeks.
