So we're getting a Tie Avenger, or FO equivalent - let's start speculating

Or just fly from point A too point B and then too point D. At this point his skill level should be Zero as he relies tomuch on other people giving him a lift. From the sound to the ship it's probably not a Star Fighter, or a normal one at the least, because of the description of the cockpit.

So should Vaders, as you never see him pilot another vessel after ANH. It all depends on how things happen in the movie.

TIE Avengers don't look like this ship. It looks to be a JJ Wars TIE Interceptor, if it is a Fighter. It sounds like a hybrid between a Interceptor, Vaders ship, and the Falcon. In fact I bet the controls are nearly the same as the Falcons, that the person that saw the model didn't realize the cockpit was more of a shout out to the Falcon more than it was influenced by a Bomber, both those ships cockpits are very similar.

This is a Tie Avenger next to a Tie Advanced - looks pretty similar to the JJ Wars fighter to me....

Sounds like we're confident that this ship will be large-based and slow - wondering where this is coming from...

We see him dogfight in Ep IV and The Stele Chronicles, hes extremely good despite what Star Wars Rebels shows.

Not to me. The proportions of the wings are different, JJ Wars Interceptor has much longer points in the front, TIE Avenger has long wings but 8 equal lengthened pointed panels. Avengers have four projectors or two huge ones, depends on the model, while the JJ Wars Interceptor will be more like the Falcons. The colors are obviously different and the cockpit description is not accurate, when it comes to comparing it and a TIE Avengers.

What do you mean, despite what Rebels shows? He took out most of Phoenix Squadron single handed.

and that only strengthens my point for Kylo. If he is shown to have skill in flying in the next movie or another format, he could be in for a PS hike.

You have a much more refined pallet for Star Wars engineering than I, sir :)

Either way, I like the look of the new ship and hope it's an arc-dodger that can hold its own. Buuuut the Empire does need a large-base ship that isn't a rock trying to swim..

He flew into an area where capital ships were ordered to fire, in this case tractor beams, and he still flew into that area instead of chasing the enemy ship from an angle outside the area of effect.

It does look nice, I just am worried about the crew compartment.

I'd guess it to be more like 3 / 3 / 3 / 1 or maybe the first 4 agility ship at 3 / 4 / 3 / 0

I think a 4 agility ship would need some built in way to prevent it from taking Stealth Device. Like how the TIE Phantom just had a waay better option in the form of ACD

Why? If 5 dice attacks are the new 3, why not 5 dice evades (which will still fear so many things).

It leaves 2 dice attacks even farther out of the game then they are now. Just look at the Striker, FFG was looking for ways to NOT give the empire yet another 3 agility ship and they did it with lightweight frame. I doubt they would create a ship that could achieve 5 dice defense without any situational condition.

No, he was captured by his own people and the Enemies escaped.

Sabine's Captured Tie Avenger ? Watch Imperials not get this ship at all lol

I'm it will more than likely be Poe's Tie Avenger

I don't think we're watching the same thing.

If this turns out to be a Rebel ship I'm going to be livid. That anger will surely manifest itself into a bunch of annoying threads where I b*tch about the Empire being snuffed like the Rebels were for 5 waves...

If this base is more than just a mistake, it could represent Kylo Ren forsaking the first order and joining the light side, likely in the third act (last third) of the movie.

As to the ship in x-wing, as the FFG team will likely have to make the ship going in blind, there is almost no chance that it will be rebel, except with the caveat that, like Captain Nym and the Havoc, it comes with both a first order dial AND a resistance dial, with a single resistance pilot card.

currently, we know nothing concrete about this ship, whether it is a custom ship, or representative of if it is a whole line.

A tie avenger should be very close to an Imperial X-wing in overall design with maybe less shields for BR and 3 def.

True. They could make it 3 agility with a mod just for it that gives it plus 1 agility or a title that does something similar and takes away their mod slot.

Given LWF you could make it 3/2/3/2 and have it literally be the Imperial X-wing.
