So we're getting a Tie Avenger, or FO equivalent - let's start speculating

All early indications point to us getting one of these by Christmas:

I love speculating what these ships will look like on the table - and I always start with the chassis.
I'm thinking a 3-4 dice primary (probably 3), the Interceptor dial, and the hull/shield of a Tie/SF.

If it's a small base ship...
3 or 4 / 2 / 3 / 3
Actions: Focus; Evade ; Barrel Roll
Target lock? Evade would be too good with my proposed ideas, below...

Title:
Kylo's Interceptor
Tie Avenger Only. Title.

Your action bar gains the [ boost ] symbol. You may not equip a [modification] upgrade that is 3 points or more.

Light-weight Frame or Autothrusters become the go-to Modifications.

Pilots:
Standard Imperial PS 9 Ace, with an ability that mimics Fel's - stress-carnivore . Perhaps adding a [boom] result if you have a stress token.
Kylo Ren will be a pilot. Guess what he'll do...
Knight of Ren - PS 6 with an EPT

Other ideas:
Glaive Squadron Training
Imperial only.

Once per round, when attacking or defending, if you have two stress tokens or less, you may remove one stress token to turn a blank result to a [boom] or a [evade] result.
You may not equip this card if you are pilot skill six or less.

I'm quite pleased. Help me flesh this monster out before it arrives and brings the Empire back into the fold.

Sticking with my original chassis:
3 or 4 / 2 / 3 / 3
Actions: Focus; Evade; Barrel Roll

Its dial would look like the YT-1300, maybe even have a 2- or 3- S-loop.
I imagine its upgrade slots will be similar to the Tie/SF.
Crew slot would be overkill, right?

It will be a 3/3/3/2. No way it is getting 4 attack dice and 3 shields. It is still a TIE and it still needs to be cheap.

I'm guessing Defender stats with a +1 somewhere (like Fighters to FOs)... I wonder where though... and I'd be surprised with a boost and a barrel roll on card. But man... an advanced with interceptor wings... who knows.

The +1 will come in the form of dice modification. All the Empire needs right now is meat and dice consistency. They have everything else.
This keeps up with the damage curve as well as the dice modification. I mean look at Attani, ffs.

The balance is they're still susceptible to being bombed, they are half of Jumpmasters in terms of bulk, and they won't able to evade everything, just two guaranteed [booms] per roll and then randomly one-two more. TLT and FFG giving Scum some banging PS 9 pilots is really what's keeping Aces back..

We'll have to pay the 3-4 points for an EPT, like always - and each of these things will be a minimum of 28 points, just like the Defender. So a max of three per list.
It fits to me.

I dunno now... read the description. Sounds more like IG88s Aggressor. This might be a large ship. That would really change the stats.

TIE Interceptor with 1 shield, the T-roll in the dial, and maybe replace boost with slam, also the obligatory tech upgrade slot of course.

Whoa - that changes everything...

Interceptor dial with S-loops added at 3 instead of the K. K-turn added at 4. I'd put money on the S-loops being in there. 3/3/3/1 with competitive pricing and a System and Tech slot would be interesting. Focus, Evade, Boost, and TL actions.

Brings us back to the old Inteceptor with an added shield. System and Tech means it can tote around FCS and Comms Relay. Lack of Barrel Roll limits repositioning a bit, compensated for by being able to S-loop with a PA or PT in the tech slot with native Boost.

Two named, two generic. PS9/7/4/2.

1-2pt title adding a missile slot, with an extra related ability - brings in Mag Pulse missiles.

Cannon slot natively added to upgrade bar (centre of the wing nacelle looks like it's toting some kind of cannon, unless that's the galaxy's biggest pitot tube).

Also, 4 pilots. All unique.

Same, but given those nacelles look like they're carrying some form of heavy armament, it wouldn't shock me. I like the idea of them having a title that gives them both a missile slot, and a boost to that slot. Like a 1pt title that gives you a built in Munitions Failsafe (you can finally go ace hunting without worrying about your missile just falling flat, and still keep your mod slot), or a 2pt title that gives you the missile slot, but lets you double-tap with the missile in exchange for a stress and a weapons disabled token (so you can unload everything, but the following turn you better have a glorious escape route pre-planned or you end up having to make the decision to simply book it to safety and shed the stress the next turn, or shed the stress immediately and go fully defensive for a turn).
It'd also allow you to bring in the much called for Mag Pulse missile on the kind of ship that would carry it.

I get it. And munitions fail-safe is still to be really taken advantage of, but it takes up the slot that you need if you're using munitions - the mod slot for Guidance Chips.

I would love to see an arc dodger that doesn't melt. He can still die if you make a mistake, of course.

That's my hope anyway.

Its on a resistance base not a first order one. Either that is a mistake or this might be a rebel ship. If you look at the whole picture from the leak you will notice the FO on a first order base.

Even if it is, it's more exciting than all of the wonderful news FFG has been providing us about the upcoming wave (which is to say, they aren't telling us anything). Speculating about this ship seems more fun than refreshing the main page hoping that they are going to try to hock something other than Destiny.

My hope is that they release this with a new title to help out older interceptors, since it looks like some sort of weird Interceptor/Tie Advanced mutant baby.

Imperials desperately need this - even if it is a large base ship.

Haha I've brought this up before. I like the idea, but there was a land-slide of rebuff from it.

If it's large-base, it better have a 4-dice primary.

My hope is that it's a small-base, though, and replaces Fel -- OR better yet, Fel is a pilot (speaking ignorantly, as I don't know if he survives to Kylo's time...)

I am extremely excited for this ship. I AM ALSO EXCITED TO FLY IT IN BATTLEFRONT II.

This ship needs to be nerfed. It looks crazy powerful and I'm not sure how to fly against it.

I just wanted to beat everyone else for once...
