Stretched Interceptor?

So, they rehash the TIE fighter in Awakens and now they rehash the TIE interceptor in Last Jedi. Makes sense.

This will be awesome, though...

I'm guessing a 3-dice primary, Fel's dial, and the shield/hull of a Tie/SF. Couple that with the standard Imperial PS 9 Ace and wham , the Empire gets some much needed revival.

A little disappointing that their creative departments seem to be tethered to rehashes of the old stuff. That concept art TIE that gets posted every now and again was so cool, and unique while still being identifiably an Imperial derived ship, so they have people who can do interesting things. Instead we get a smushed together TIE Advanced and TIE Interceptor.

As it is described, it seems like a personal design for Kylo, not a 'line' fighter/interceptor. More or less like the advanced was pretty much unique for Vader.

Every imperial fighter has been a rehash of the TIE Fighter. Just sayin'

Avengers had a fork ad the end of their wings too. Stretched TIE Itnerceptor that has stats of what an Avenger should have maybe.

But otherwise if this was the next model for 1st Order it would likely be a TIE Interceptor with 1 shield T-rolls, and maybe a slam, also the tech slot for everything ep7 and beyond?

Highly doubt that because it's referred to as a star fighter. But given the wing size I'm willing to bet it falls in the K-wing/Punisher size on the mini scale. One of those "could be large base but its not ships".

Unique only pilots, maybe? Imperials are the only faction without this style now.

They could go so far as to require you to using a title for the ship, and have that title be unique. That way, there's a hard limit of 1 in any format, and it doesn't have to be made prohibitively expensive to force that result with points.

Given there's discussion over whether it'll be small or large base, I can imagine the former being quite possible, even likely. If it's large base, I can maybe see the former happen (Aggressors did it, after all). A single ship unique in the latter style is unlikely, but that could open up a really interesting design space in terms of making a strong ship that doesn't have to be over-encumbered with needless upgrade slots to justify a price hike for the sake of limiting numbers.

Also reminds me of this fan design for FO Interceptors.
