Random Rant (Spoiler: It's a dog Story)

By Stasy, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

So about 2 weeks ago, my Fiancee comes home to a random dog sitting on the sidewalk. The neighbors had seen the dog, and even tried to feed and give it water for about 2 hours before she got home. Well, when she got out of the car, the dog went right over to her. No tags, but a collar.

We have 3, and she's had dogs forever.

I get home to find out we now have a visitor chumming up to our girls. An absolute sweetheart. We post on Facebook, we walk a few houses up and down the block, and we eventually find her owners. A good 1/3 mile down the road. We give the dog back and we think everything is great with the world.

4 days ago, someone finds a dog that looks like the same girl we did. A few blocks in the other direction from us. My fiancee contacts those people with the name and number and the collar description.

It's the same freaking dog.

Turns out as of tonight the people were contacted, but didn't bother to get the dog. They got the messages on FB but didn't go for her.

This has generated two issues. First is knowing that they've abandoned the dog. People are real douches sometimes. The second is my girl, and her friends calling to take the dog in. Yeah, I feel for this dog, but with 3 already (one being an older one we took on after a family member moved and couldn't take both of their dogs). There is no way in hell there is another coming into this home. The Sith nailed it: Two is the right number.

2 is about right. Any more than that and you might as well start a kennel. Or a Sith temple.

Feel bad for the dog! Not it's fault it got placed in a douchy home. Still, maybe one of those wife's friends could take it?

Really does go to show what douches some people are. I really can't understand why some people even bother to get a dog much less the jackasses who get one right after another and treat them like they're disposable. I've got four myself and think that's two too many but wouldn't dream of getting rid of any of them.

Dogs are not animated teddy bears. If you don't have room/time/emotional energy to take care of them, don't get one.

Good on you for taking the 3 you have, and recognizing that 3 is your limit.

I just have the one, but since he's getting on in years, he's starting to get grumpier with other dogs at the park. I'd hate to see how he would cope with a strange dog moving into his house.
