Stridan + Aces

By fhdz, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've been trying to make this list work, but I can't quite get there. Let's see what you guys think.

Major Stridan + Advanced Sensors + General Hux + Systems Officer (42)

This is the core of the list - pretty straightforward, you advanced sensors Hux, take a green to clear stress, and hand out a TL. Works even if you bump. (For one point fewer, you can use Pattern Analyzer instead and save a point, but then you're not immune to bumping. I think the extra is worth it.)

Then it's a question of who benefits from having lots of focuses and TLs thrown around. First choice is easy: Omega Leader for another 26 points. Her main issue is not doing consistent damage, but with Stridan she can get focus every turn, take the free TL if she needs to switch targets, then have BR available to get better shots. Or she can sloop without worrying about stress. Awesome.

It's the last ship I'm having trouble with. There are 32 points left. I was thinking Tomax with Homing Missiles and Crack Shot, but my bombers are on the other side of the world and I'd like to come up with something I can actually play. I've not tried it yet, but this is my current variation:

Backdraft + VI + FCS + title + Lightweight Frame

I tried a Baffle Quickdraw for a bit, but I don't think she's the best choice for this particular list, plus taking Backdraft gives both consistent offense (FCS) and defence (LWF). Could also swap VI out for Crack Shot, but I figure PS9 is a good place to be at the moment.

Any takers? How would you try and make this work? (And yeah, I know, the shuttle goes down fast for something worth 42 points. But it wreaks a hell of a lot of havoc first.)

I usually try run the Shuttle as a as a bumper (Boshek, PA) or a stress dispenser (Mara Jade, Rebel Captive, Title) however I see te appeal of using it like this.

i may try something like this...

Major Stridan — Upsilon-class Shuttle 32
Fire-Control System 2
General Hux 5
Systems Officer 2
Ship Total: 41
"Backdraft" — TIE/sf Fighter 27
Adaptability 0
Fire-Control System 2
Pattern Analyzer 2
Lightweight Frame 2
Special Ops Training 0
Ship Total: 33
"Omega Leader" — TIE/fo Fighter 21
Juke 2
Comm Relay 3
Ship Total: 26

Had to cut some costs so I could take my preferred build for Omega Leader and I used pattern Analyser to Open up Backdraft dial. Major stridan + Hux which also means I can save on PTL as he gives TL's but you probably knew that :P

its an expensive build for sure but I've seen it run with defenders to great success back in Palps hay day...

best of luck ;)

Can try Inquisitor instead. Give him a TL (which gives him evade) and focus from hux, then can PTL off that to boost. Now he moves and can b-roll. 5 actions for insane Inqy.

EDIT: Also, play around with Strikers. Sabaac and Duchess are SCARY with a TL, range 1, OUCHIE!

My friend uses either strikers or defenders with him. I can't recall the striker list but the defender one uses 2 PS 1 x7s and Stridan with Hux, systems officer, advanced sensors and ion projector. The defenders can be very difficult to crack. The strikers are delicate but hit like a truck if you can arc dodge with them.
