Who makes a good violet color?

By Stoneface, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

I'm in need of a good violet color, preferably an ink but I'll take what I can get.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Come on guys! My go to colors for years were OD Green and Panzer Grey. I need a little help with an X-wing repaint.

How about Nauseous Blue (a misnomer, it's as purple as can be) from Coat D'Arms? It's my go-to purple for most painting projects, a lovely colour and nice thin consistency.

uhrm. Not sure what you mean by a "good" violet color, that's kinda like telling someone what milk tastes like..

However! I've been using Army Painter's Purple "Tone" (it's an Ink), for quite awhile and am pleased with the quality and so forth. (Not sure if it's what you'd be looking for)

Here's what I've got. Druchii Violet and warlord purple were my most wash-like colors. Hope this helps!

Thanks guys! If you hit YouTube and type in "painting burnt iron" you'll see what I mean. The blue and bronze are no problem but I've tried mixing my own violet and the effects were... horrid is being nice.

These suggestions really help!

Piscopas, this was brilliant! Thanks!

It's too difficult to determine colors accurately in the bottle and I don't need six bottles of various purples on my bench. Liche Purple looks like a close match for my needs.

Thanks again!
