I just want to make sure I'm not missing something or doing something wrong.

In putting the mountains pieces into the board sections, the rulebook on pg 7 says, "...find the appropirately sized mountain piece for each map tile. One at a time, snap each mountain into a matching cardboard map tile from the back...."

My mountain pieces don't "snap" into the spaces. They definitely "fit" in, but I pick the map tile up off the table the mountain would not come with it. Is this how it's supposed to work?

And by the way, this game is amazing and beyond what I had hoped.

My didn't snap into place either. Some of them would stay with the board for a while if I picked it up, but there was definitely no snapping them into place.

I actually like this better as it allows me to store them separately and only put the mountains in place for the sections I am using in a particular game. I was thinking of gluing them in place, but I don't have a problem putting them in each time.

Yeah, I've pretty much come to the same conclusion, that it's probably better this way for storing. If the mountains were locked in place there's probably a better chance of them getting damaged when you store all the pieces in the box.
