You are allowed to look at your own dials at any time. You just ovioisly cant change them.

I always look at my dials but i always make sure i only use two fingers so its obvious i am not changing it.

Like you, I use two fingers. There's times I've forgotten what move I dialed in before the dial hits the table.

Yeah, I mean. It wasn't even well concealed. I spotted it immediately even without knowing when it happened.

The officials and TOs are looking into the evidence atm and will make a decision.

Im sure it will be found out and heard on the stream and relayed on that and FB

Pls someone well informed tell me this scum is going to get thrown out from Worlds.

I don't know about ask. They could say no. At most, require people to inform that they are looking at their dials. And no palming the dials. Two or three fingers only.

As for this guy, he's probably gonna find it tough to find opponents from now on.

No I would make it so they couldn't say no, but you have to ask or you cannot do it.

Given how obvious it is, i'll Bet he will. There really isnt any doubt in this case.

I do hope a TO looks at the picture that confirms the cheating. They have a lot on their hands, but this is unacceptable.

pretty clear he rolled his thumb to change the dial

I saw this "move" on live and first of all I am confused why he had his dial in his hands before it was his turn and secondly why he moved his thumb over it. Shady gaga!

Any outcome?

Nothing as of yet

According to Jeremy Howard the player received a warning.

Clearly cheating.

If i were To, I'd eject him from the tourney and give his opponent a full win

Just a player warning?

I'm about 90% sure I played against that guy in Regionals this year. Seemed like a pretty okay guy. I wonder if I was wrong or if it was the combination of Worlds and the frustration of a dumb bump got to him and he did something dumb.

Yep. Just a warning.

That seems like a mistake. FFG not having the guts to pull the trigger. The dial is pretty clearly changed, but maybe they don't have the stills and want to give the benefit of the doubt, which I understand.

That's ridiculous, not even a game loss

I suppose if that dial was really lose, I could see just getting a warning. But if not, that sounds like a poor ruling.

That's bad for the game. We have a guy in our local area who used to do that. I never told him straightly he was cheating but i asked him to stop holding his dials for long periods of time when it was not the ship's turn to move... That worked :-)

Did the cheater at least lose the game?? This does look like a pretty important round...

They probably did not have the picture that delivers ultimate proof at hand. Which makes this a reasonable descision. Which should be reviewed, though.

Someone shared the clip on Nova FB. He picks up the dial while hos opponent is moving their ships (which is already a no-no) then proceedsto thumb the dial to a new move and put it back down on the table and reveal it.

I posted that pic several times in the chat after I made it, including when the GSP guys asked for the links, so no idea.

From the sound of it, the TOs were given the video, picture and everything

Somebody better put @TurboToker on suicide watch!

This is ridiculous. A warning? His opponent might have won if he didnt cheat. He's got a loss now. MINIMUM should be a round loss and a 100-0 win for his opponent.
