Since pretty much everyone seems to do it, let's start a pop culture inspired droid designation name thread.

By TheMOELANDER, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

So In my current AoR group there is a droid player, who is a soldier Medic by trade, designed by the colicoids (same ones who did the Droideka). Somehow I am only allowed to upload 0.07mb of pics, so sorry if you can't really make out any details of the pic he send me that inspired him.

Anyway, he took to another SciFi franchise to name his droid, it's designation is MC-0Y, taken from this dude here naturally:

He just dropped the extra C.

In another group I had an Astromech by the designation B34-KR

And yes, the player went "mimimimi" all the time.

So I wondered, there have to be more out there who do this, soI wanna collect all your punny ideas.

I was GMing for three players, and then the player of the droid PC had to take a sabbatical.

The remaining mechanic and marauder decided to create a replacement droid.

The mechanic rolled really well and created a phenomenally-skilled assassin droid with a terrible personality.

So they named him R5-R8, because, of the two droids, he was "our favorite".

I have a killer AI that keeps reoccurring as an adversary in my games by possessing new droid host bodies with the designation Nos4-R2

We have a droid cobbeled together from mismatched spare parts called M1-GRL, or "Mongrel".

We recently got hold of an old B1 battle droid in need of programming. The idea to give it singing and dancing directives and calling it B1C (Beeonecee) has been suggested and groaned at.

in relation to this a friend's wife had Val Kyrie for female barbarian.. we named our five B1 Battle Droids, PU-PU, BRN-E, M-GRU, CTH-BRT, DBL and GRB.. they were the firefighters from Trumpton, a UK children's TV programme from the 70s -

We discussed the idea for the name for an astromech droid if we ever got one - H8Red-4Q

Sorry for this , but I have to admit:

I don't get the reference. I am german, so maybe this is something very specific.

Pronounced in english it sounds a little like Hatred F***You

I'm missing the Nos4-R2 myself, the R2 is likely "are too", not sure whether the 4 is supposed to be an "A" a "for" or "far"

Fullon Gamer has a MR 5M1TH "mister smith" droid

I've use F1D0 "fido" and 5P0T "spot" for robot dog names

I suggested M4-RK to a player named Mark, which he used

5T3V3 "Steve" was a designation a player came up with for a copy of M4-RK

Its nosferatu

So it's funny...because...bad bad no-no words are funny...?

I guess the group who came up with it thought so.

Too many numbers are the dealbreaker for this one. Let's try this:

B45-T4RD

not sure I can quote it without the bad language filter kicking in

4=A 7=T 0=D

Now I get it

bounty hunter called C4-7CH "Catch"

refurbished B3 Enforcer called B3-TR... catch line of the rest of the crew "do what he says"

R0-K33 "Rockee"

Super Load Lifter-4P aka SSL-4P "Slap"

DG-M337 "Dogmeet"

My group has a droid pilot named GI-01. I wound up thinking about a combat droid named GI-G0. (A real Corellian hero!)

Not a pop culture name, but I've always fancied the astromech designation R2-R0 - pronounced phonetically, Artoo Arnaught

A droid in an old campaign was named To-To, we're planning to bring it back in a new incarnation, with a new buddy. Either F1d0 or Snu-P

R4-B1D

One of our group has a murderbot called QT-3.14
