Miniature base question

By EmpireFanatic1977, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

Hello!

I have a question I absolutely can't find an answer to. The base tokens, the ship ID tokens I believe they are called? Is there an official customizier or printer for these? I circled what I'm looking for in the photo. I'm NOT a skilled photoshop guy, so I was hoping there was a service available?

I would like to create a few of my own ship ID tokens for the base of the miniatures that are customized but I can't find ANYWHERE to get them printed?

Suggestions anyone?

Thank you for your help!

Any advice for a new forum member? I would sincerely appreciate the help. Thank you!

I would print it on normal paper, and attach it to thick cardstock.

There certainly IS NOT any kind of official customizer/printer for those base tiles. They are a pretty important part of game play and if your customized ones get in that could raise many issues.

Part of me just wonders why you need to print your own base tiles? For the most part the only really relevant information on them is the firing arc or arcs and those should generally be the same from base tile to base tile.

If he is making his own ships for Thematic Play Scenarious I cant see any issues with that.

Any mod, this should be moved to the customization section of the forum...

Anyway you would receive more relevant answer then here...

I made some for Heroes of the Aturi Cluster. I printed them onto heavy cardstock and then stuck them onto some of these foam sheets and then trimmed up with scissors and a hobby knife. They look awesome and are just the right thickness.

I made custom bases for these guys. I created them in Strange Eons, exported them to jpegs, printed them on self-adhesive paper then stuck them onto existing spare base tiles. You can hardly tell they aren't "real".

And @Piscopas I did the same thing for my HotAC character as well.

Once you get the image how you want it, you can get a more "finished" look if you get the file printed on photo paper at the photo department of a big box store or similar. Then glue the cropped image onto an empty cereal box to give it a sturdier backing, and trim it down. You'll have to cut out the hole yourself with a hobby knife, or maybe do your best with a hole punch, then go back and clean up the edge with the knife.

Print them on matte finish photopaper.
