Questions about terminals, token doors and forced missions.

By Dirklightning, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hello All.

Last night we played Incoming and the rebels lost.
I have some questions following this game.

1. If an imperial unit stands on a terminal can a rebel perform an attribute test on it? I've seen lots of comments about targeting terminals to shoot/damage them when imperials are stood on it but not about doing an attribute test.

2. When the secret door opened and we had to get to it to do an attribute to open it can the imperials again place a mobile figure on it (since it spawns in a red box if I remember)? or is it treated as blocked terrain as there is now a door there. And same as above would that imperial figure block attribute tests.

3 Lastly forced mission and Dark Obsession. We are now on the forced side mission "Captured". The DM has played Dark Obsession and reading it that because we must do the forced side mission that we cannot chose to do Dark Obsession so he gets it as an automatic win.
Is this right or must optional imperial side missions be played only when the rebels have a free choice of side mission?

Matt

1. A hero can interact with an object as long as he is on or adjacent to its space, and having an imperial unit standing on the terminal doesn't affect the adjacency. So, yes, a rebel can perform an attribute test on a terminal if an imperial unit is standing on it.

2. I'm only going from my memory of the mission, but I think the door just gets placed as a token inside some blocking terrain (i.e. a square with the solid red border)? If so, I would say that the space is still blocking terrain, meaning that nobody could move directly onto that space unless they were mobile. But just like in number 1 above, even if a mobile figure were standing on that space a hero could still perform an interact from any of the spaces next to it.

3. The Dark Obsession mission card reads (emphasis mine):

Quote

After the heroes resolve any other side mission, discard this card and receive the reward listed below

Since "Captured" is a forced mission and not a side mission the imperial player does not automatically get the reward from Dark Obsession. Just like he wouldn't get the reward if you played a story mission - he only gets the reward automatically if the rebel players choose to play a different side mission.

Hope that helps clear things up!
