Why are you calling Drokkatta he ? :P

I said this too, in another thread! Specifically, my comment was "Nice Detonators."

Riot troopers: I really like them. I've heard a lot of "oh no, more troopers", but I think these are totally cool. After all, when you look at the Empire, they are mostly troopers. You can always give them optional paint jobs. I really like how these guys fit into the story of the oppressive Empire in urban environments. My guess is that they will have some nice thematic abilities that will include, stun and/or push and will also have some nice guardian traits. They will be a great asset and a good alternative to royal guards, who don't always make sense in the campaign when there's no one to guard.

AT-DP: OK, admittedly I think the AT-ST is a better looking vehicle. But that's really the fault of the Rebels art crew rather than FFG. Ultimately, if they didn't give us AT-DPs, then people (like me) would be saying that the AT-ST aren't appropriate for the time period of HotE. My guess is that they will be much better costed and see much more use that the current AT-STs and also move in a direction to allow for Vehicle lists in skirmish. I'm looking forward to the AT-DP and will reserve my opinion about it's aesthetics for once it's painted.

Just my 2 credits.

I agree. One of my biggest gripes about the game is how downplayed the Royal Guards were. They were the best of the best and then we see them doing stupid stuff in the core campaign like cleaning up after some Nexu in the garbage room tile.

I always replace them with heavy stormies or other similar costed cards. The only time I'll use Royal Guards is if they are with the Emperor now. And only Elite Royal Guards.

It actually took me a while to realize she was Ki-Adi's species, even though I'm very familiar with him.

That being said, I am kind of aesthetically disappointed with the heroes this time. A rather generic human character (though, as an Assassins Creed fan, I'm interested to see his weapons in use), another Wookie (though, again, a demolitions hero has potential to be great) and the Cerean. That's the thing- their abilities and stuff may well be cool, but I'm not psyched to have them aesthetically like I was for Vinto, Onar, Murne, and Loku. Specifically, we already have a wookie, and a Cerean just seems like a weird choice. But hey, I won't look down on having more heroes.

I completely agree on the aesthetics of the heroes.

I fully expected a human hero, so that's fine I suppose.

I would've preferred a non-wookie hero, and half hoped the Bith demolitions guy they used on one of the rpg covers would be a possibility.

The cerean is a left field choice, and probably the one I'm most impressed with. Did not see her coming.

It's to early to pass judgement on what I do or don't like about the expansion, I haven't even seen the cards yet! The AT-DP does seem like a really close version of the AT-ST.. which already collects dust. But I will wait till I have seen what it is about. I was thinking Man they could have got so much more creative with that massive slot! But then I thought well what is really left?

Cards mean nothing to me. It's all about the toys!

I hope that Wookie is a suicide bomber that explodes when he dies.

There's something about the face on that Wookiee that feels a little odd, it looks slightly comical or something, or like the figure is smiling? Hopefully it's just the angle.

I like this crazy wookie

Who wouldn't have fun throwing grenades, thus the grin on her face.

The goggles are naturally protection for debris.

I am curious how the grenades are gonna work. I wonder if she'll come with a heavy weapon (presumably grenade launcher) as well as one set of grenades that depletes when used. Or, perhaps the grenades will be in her skill set. Or, maybe even more than one set, if that's the case. It does look like she has a lot strapped to her.

It's a good question, I've been thinking about it myself. I'm guessing (in campaign) it will be skill based. If she has a grenade launcher as her starting weapon then it's usefulness will likely diminish later in the campaign so I'll bet that's going to be something in her class deck, or possibly a skill on her hero sheet. Either way, I'm sure something explosive will be on her hero sheet.

My speculation: Grenades on the hero sheet (starts as a "roll a green die" with a class card to upgrade it to a red), with a heavy weapon as a class card upgrade.

Fun thought: What if one class card is a grenade launcher accessory, that changes the range for the grenades on the hero sheet (again, based on my speculation) from "within X spaces" to LOS?

The more I think about it the more I realize there's a lot of directions they can go with this character.

Classic mostly naked female heroes. The goggles replace the chain mail bikini :P

And what does PETA say about the fur she's wearing... no, wait.. :D

t seems pretty clear you're not interested in the TV shows, which are a big part of Star Wars now.

Not true! I loved Droids and Ewoks !

So when saying " what appears to be another female force using twi'lek (or something very like a twi'lek) who ALSO wields her lightsaber all weird and backhanded... yawn." it might help to know the context of why she might have been included in the expansion.

She fits the time period of the campaign and is currently one of the most popular characters in Star Wars.

It was only a matter of time before they brought her into the game.

Ok... but that doesn't help me. I'm still not buying/painting a repetitively themed force user model. Same race, gender and posing as my other one. No thanks, I'm all set.

The AT-DP is an odd choice though. I suppose they want a figure like that that's actually playable, but I would have preferred just a "fix" card for the existing AT-ST.

It's all playable to me. If I like the models. Shopping for real toy soldiers based on fictitious stats is unhealthy, mentally and emotionally. I like zero of these figures, aesthetically. The new wookie and the emperor is ok I guess but don't justify the box. I'm not saying this wave won't make money. But it won't get any of mine.

Is there actually any reason to believe otherwise? I've looked through the article and the only things about Drokatta I see are a small portion of the card and the model, neither of which makes me suspect a female.

Apparently there is a play tester who let slip that Drokkatta is a she

Well she's the first Togruta in the game (again, you're lack of knowledge of the prequels... you're my hero!). The art style of Rebels makes them look very similar to Twi'leks.

Is there actually any reason to believe Drokkatta is a male? I think there are also good reasons to leave it ambiguous. It will be interesting to see if FFG avoids all gendered pronouns when talking about Drokkatta.

Point is, Ahsoka is a huge part of Star Wars right now. I get not liking her (hey, I'm not really looking forward to the inevitable Ezra or Kanan figures at all) but a lack of familiarity with her does not diminish her importance.

Kanan yes, Ezra not as much. Unless it's post-season 4 dark side Ezra:)

"If" that's a thing. :P

Each expansion has released heroes in either a 1:1 male:female ratio or a 2:1 one (RTH is the latter, MHD is refered to as "he" in the flavor of his side mission) (which isn't strong evidence I'll admit but it's better than nothing).

Oh MHD is a he.

Trust me. ;)

I just read some rumours about heart of empire skirmish upgrade. One of the three we know is vader fix, some people says other would be a han and chewie fix together, with negative value, and adding some scum to rebel list.

What do you thinking about? I don't know if i prefer a han fix and a chewie fix alone... Perhaps is only a fake rumour

Scum to Rebels makes some sense in this context. It would allow Maul to join the Rebels side.
