Quarantine Breach - Steel Squadron OP-ED
Nice article,
I'm not unhappy though ![]()
I think Sloane has a good chance of shaking things up.
Its not going to be the token stripping thats going to be the main punch of the list, its going to be the fact that you'll be able to win any squadron war with the most point efficient squadrons in the game, whilst not being punished against squadron light lists by having 100+ points of uselessness.
I'm very excited.
Prediction: ISD, VSD/Quasar, three flottila, TIE-ball lists will be able to answer Rieekan.
@Blail Blerg is unhappy though![]()
Lets look forward, its store championship season! And for all those going to multiple, time to run trully oddball lists. Testing of new ideas, seeing what may or may not work. Its the best time of the game.

I've been experimenting with Interdictor lists lately during my weekly games. I've come up with some seriously weird and wonderful stuff ![]()
I think the biggest problem is a mix of Squadrons can put out ALOT of damage, (Imo ships need to be more lethal to squadrons as well) Relay, flotillas, Rieekan, and throw in gallant Haven all together makes a devastating combo that can be REALLY hard to directly counter without say..... Rieekan, Flotillas, Squadrons, Yavaris,,,, Yea. I think Sloane will give Imps a decent advantage, but still squadrons seem alot stronger than they should. Now I am not saying I want squadrons just for anti squadron, I just feel ships can do jack all to them unless they are speced to fight them. IDK. 5am Rambling as well.
Now I am not unhappy with the game. Just how crazy strong some competitive builds are getting. My town harbors quite a few experienced players and we all try to promote excellent list building and competitive play. It is just when I play on casual nights, I tend to play some of the more competitive guys around. Some people would surely love that I am sure, but I just want to do some casual play with wild lists from time to time.
Edited by TallGiraffeI responded on the FB page, but here is my shortened response:
I still like the game, and I don't get to play nearly enough. But the way they handled the FAQ turns me off a bit as a consumer. Compound that with the need to run 4 or 5 activations plus squadrons to "feel" competitive leads to very same lists, even if the commanders and tactics are different. Add that only so many ships can shoehorn into that framework, it starts to even look the same.
More releases will help and new rocks to beat scissors will help. I don't think we need to nerf things yet and the sky isn't falling. We can't go back on activation advantage, so we may as well get new flotillas to mix things up.
I look forward to getting beat hard during SC season, and I hope to meet as many of you as possible in my travels. ![]()
