Island Hermit

By hulahoop, in CoC Rules Discussion

Island Hermit reads, "Count Island Hermit's skill towards any story where an Ancient One character is committed. "

Just to confirm, it counts on the side of the player who controls Island Hermit right? For example, if opponent commits big C to a story, and i play like a moth to reduce printed skill to 0, my Island Hermit will win one success token without needing to commit to that story (it can even be exhausted from the previous turn) correct?

And it adds one skill to my side if i sent big C to the story myself right?

Thanks very much.

1. Yes, if you're the guy who attack

2. Yeah.

For 1, do you mean no then?

For 1, i meant opponent commits an ancient one (and that's the only character), do i count island hermit as opposing him? (Assume i have it out, exhausted or not it shouldn't matter i think). If so and i reduce the skill to 0, that would mean i won the skill check right and can add a success token for winning right?

Oops. meant to say 2 success token (unchallenged).

1. Be careful, you win a success token for the skill only if you are the active player, only when you attack.

Ok thanks. That kind of limits it a little (i was hoping for 2+3 tokens in one turn, but 1+3 still looks good)

But my original assumption is correct then? I count the island hermit skill on the side where island hermit is on (it doesn't matter who commits the AO).
