Apologies if this has already been addressed, but I am wondering if this card triggers every time a friendly ship in range 1-2 (including the ship with the crew) misses on an attack?

Thinking of making a swarm with some Tie Bombers and Tie Fighters.

If itt says, "a" friendly ship then you can use it on the ship with the crew card. If it says, "another" friendly ship, you can only use it on ships that are not the one supporting that card.

It says "a friendly" so I know it can affect that ship, but I'm more interested in whether it will trigger multiple times in a round, especially if you have Tie Fighters only rolling 2 dice.

The standard rule is "once per opportunity" so unless the card specifies otherwise you can do it as many times as the trigger happens. So yes every time a ship misses you can assign another focus somewhere. I can verify from having played against one that a TIE swarm that includes a Bomber shuttle with this can be rather unpleasant.
