So how hard did FFG drop the ball on this one?!?

I do. ?

On the one day that the entire world is paying attention to Star Wars FFG can't even post an article? Maybe they don't understand how big a deal it is?

I wasn't paying attention to Star Wars, I was negotiating a job offer. Maybe the rest of the world are doing something as well.

My question has to be though... why is it SUCH a big deal to you? They only said that "immortal line" twice in the entire original trilogy.... Disney do seem to like the attention though.

Me, I bought all the DOS X-Wing games on a Steam sale.

Then after slamming my A-Wing into a freighter that appeared out of nowhere, I can say that Huge Ships really do move last. To top it all off, my pilot ejects and gets captured by the Empire. So I have to start from scratch again . 90s games were created from a potent elixir of C++, magic and hatred.

Who could have thought 320 pixels and atrocious MIDI music could be so much fun?

"There's the rebel!"

Nononononono!

Good times. :)

Do you use a flightstick or torture yourself trying an overloaded controller mapping like I did? (Or did you find a good one? Please tell me you did!)

Right now I don't have a stick which is why I slammed into the transport (mouse control For Teh Lose). I had a 4-button joystick when I had TIE Fighter the first time around.

What an outdated way of thinking.

You ARE aware that in this modern day and age, FFG could quite easily have written a May 4th article one week, two weeks, a month ago - or longer - and scheduled it to be published on their website and social media accounts in advance?

Being "busy on the day" is no excuse for anyone involved in the realm of digital marketing, unless of course you're both disorganised and incompetent, which I don't believe FFG are.

The kind of work you're referring to is called preparation, and it isn't new to the digital age. Some people/companies are better at it than others. You can call my thinking out dated; I welcome it. most of my friends and family say I was born in the wrong decade. My post was a sarcastic stand against instant gratification and entitlement.

FFG makes a fun game with the flavor of of my favorite fictional galaxy. I played it yesterday with my friends. Thanks to all the people at FFG and Lucas/Disney who made it possible, regardless of the damage the game has done to my wallet.

Maybe, they actually are?

Indeed, I agree they are not incompetent. To run a company is hard. Winning the Star Wars licence was a major accomplishment for FFG, and to achieve such massive growth for a game in this kind of ultra-competitive market speaks volumes. Heck, their own IP creation (the Imperial Raider) has been picked up by Battlefront II, instead of EA just making something new.

Its almost like they reserve Thursdays for whatever is released that week...

Not atrocious for much longer, it seems:

I'm not going to lie Azrapse, my pants have literally just flown right off.

Yeah I've been following this project. It's been getting progressively more promising with every iteration. I'm almost at the point where I'd be worried about a C&D if they weren't being incredibly smart and not actually modifying the game content beyond the original.

I don't know...we got some Star Wars articles. Just because it's not X-Wing related doesn't mean FFG 'dropped the ball'.

On 5/5. "Did you hit post?" "No, I thought you did. Ah, well, it's just International Star Wars day. We'll put them up tomorrow. "

One day late and Star Wars fans get their panties in a bunch.

The sense of entitlement is strong with this one...
