On the one day that the entire world is paying attention to Star Wars FFG can't even post an article? Maybe they don't understand how big a deal it is?
So how hard did FFG drop the ball on this one?!?
It's not that I think there are going I drop the news today at 20:00 est. (like last year) in fact most people are off work at that point vs an earlier time slot which most people are still asleep or working.
IDK guess in an hour or so we will see.
I know, it's like their staff might be busy with World Championships or some other thing that isn't at all relevant to their business or the game.
Disappointed as I am, they did actually post about Star Wars.
Destiny.
It's the 40th anniversary later this month so it's possible we'll hear something then.

okay how am I going to set this one.
First of all, well the Disney marketers would love to thank you for making this literal corporate holiday a raging success. Without the enthusiasm of the like of you buying into all the hype, this wouldn't be possible.
Now that thats out of the way, May the 4th Be with You is About $tar War$ , which happens to be much larger than X-wing Miniatures. So that being said FFG also has a whole line up of products using the $tar War$ licence to use. They have an article for Destiny, but again just because it is the mouse has decreed that the world shall celebrate $tar War$ doesn't make it a good opportunity for off shoot products to also market because quite frankly the entire marketing space is crowded. You got the movie trailer, Amazon, all the other merchandise from PoP, Lego, and anything else that also has the $tar War$ license. So FFG throwing their ring into the hat won't exactly bring many new customers. Plus add in the fact that FFG has their entire $tar War$ championship for this week, I think FFG is doing more than enough $tar War$ for the Force of May.
Yes, FFG did drop the ball. However, what you did't realize is that FFG is playing Calvinball, and dropping the ball scores them 17 points.

Santa will have a lump of coal for you come the morning of 12/25.
Is it so wrong to celebrate a corporate constructed holiday? Folk celebrate corporate co-opted ones without a care (Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc.). DeBeers invented the concept of the diamond engagement ring too!
May the 4th is anchored on a bad pun, which makes it infinitely better!

First off you're dead wrong. May the 4th was a fan based celebration (on a grassroots level). Corporate marketeers only had the good sense to embrace it. So take your overly cynical and grossly ignorant "settling" back to he drawing board. At least do your research if you're going to play little black rain cloud.
If you knew a thing about corporate marketing you'd know you it's unwise to miss opportunities to get eyes on which you don't have to pay for. Your own statements of all the other SW merchandisers and their outlets and products primed for today only support my point. Frankly, FFG should have had something prepared for every SW licensed game they have (and they should every year). How many stores/chains pass on Black Friday? Sad, and just not smart. Bad for the fans and players too.

Don't even get me started on Black Friday.
May the 4orce Live long and Prosper.

Yeah, because no one ever faffs off online while at work.

So... Anyone got any news from worlds?
Big deal on other stuff like Worlds going on. Write an article on anything... ever how far ahead works... then click "publish" or its equivalent anytime today.

"Black Friday", to be said in the same tones as "the Black Death". That's literally the way the term was started by retail workers. Later, management got embarrassed and made up some BS about ledger ink.
I just wanted to thank everyone for helping me remember my mom's birthday.

I really think you massively overestimate how many people are actually paying attention to Star Wars today. I can't speak for the US market, but I can tell you that over here in Europe, about as many people pay attention to it as they do to any other Twitter hashtag; a small number might engage for novelty, but the vast majority don't even notice it.
Things like this always seem more important when you've got a vested interest in it.

The eighties is strong with this one
IIRC ffg hasn't ever released especially formay 4th. Should they also release for the return of the 5th?
It's a catch 22 argument, either they're missing an opportunity or they are as bad as the mouse for trying to hijack a fan created event to squeeze every dollar out of us .

What an outdated way of thinking.
You ARE aware that in this modern day and age, FFG could quite easily have written a May 4th article one week, two weeks, a month ago - or longer - and scheduled it to be published on their website and social media accounts in advance?
Being "busy on the day" is no excuse for anyone involved in the realm of digital marketing, unless of course you're both disorganised and incompetent, which I don't believe FFG are.
