Alternate Imperial Class Unit

By GiledPallaeon, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

Alright, now for a zinger of a modifications question. Has anyone attempted to modify one of the Disney Store diecast Imperial class Star Destroyers to take an FFG Large base? I'm working on a stand for one in SolidWorks right now, but has anyone else attempted this and have any tips or ideas to offer? I really want to get this beautiful bone-white, movie-accurate ship on the table, but it's been a long time coming, and the geometry is a doozy.

As far as ideas to help with the bases, check shapeways and try asking Mel for help, he builds them all the time for his ships and prob has the scales down to a science.

If you want a Star Destroyer from TFA, assuming you actually like anything out of TFA.... The Micromachine playset of the tie fighter hanger that folds into the Star Destroyer itself would be roughly the right scale for armada fighters. , though maybe a bit large... that said it could be used as a super star destroyer or star dreadnaught.
