Decimator and Tie/sf?

By Calibri Garamond, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm trying to build a list with a decimator and a Tie/sf.

Now the barebones of the list I'm thinking about is something like this:

  • Chirpy: EU, Gunner and Hot-shot copilot.
  • Backdraft: Sensor Jammer, Sensor Cluster, Title, LWF.

The basic concept of the list is that Chirpy fires first and strips focus tokens. Hopefully enemy ships can not return fire at the deci. When attacking the Tie, sesnor jammer, cluser and LWF should keep him alive for some time. I wanted to go with Backdraft because I think he is better suited for a defensive build. Anyway, that leaves 6 points for EPTs and a possible third crew on the deci.

My thinking so far is that Chirpy could use Predator, VI or adaptability. Backdraft could do with something that lets him do some damage (Exertise, Predator, LW) or possibly VI. For crew, I'm looking at rebel captive, Inspriring recruit or possibly Isard.

So how would you flesh it out? Does it work at all? Any of the following lists looking OK?

1. Chirpy (VI, inspiring recruit, EU, Gunner and Hot-shot copilot) + Backdraft (Expertise, Sensor jammer, Sensor Cluster, Title and LWF), (100 pts, Ps 10 and 7)

2. Chirpy (Adaptability, rebel captive, EU, Gunner and Hot-shot copilot) + Backdraft (VI, Sensor jammer, Sensor Cluster, Title and LWF), (98 pts, Ps 9 and 9)

3. Chirpy (Predator, EU, Gunner and Hot-shot copilot) + Backdraft (LW, Sensor jammer, Sensor Cluster, Title and LWF), (99 pts, Ps 8 and 7)

Thanks!

With a super defensive loadout, I think I would rather have Quickdraw, as his ability is likely to trigger at least twice, possibly three times. In addition, with the lightweight frame you are almost always going to be rolling 3 defense dice so you probably won't need the sensor cluster, as you have pretty good odds of rolling at least 1 focus on each roll, so you can drop that to upgrade Backdraft. Other than that I really like this list, let us know how it works for you.

Yeah, that is good advice, thanks. Will try now and report back..

I played horribly but won the game. So I guess the list is ok haha

With LWF and sensor jammer it can be an incredibly hard ship to take down and with QuickDraw ability people really don't want to target it. Which allows the decimator to do what it does best: tank.

seems solid, if you enjoy the crew then keep them I'd go Boshek and Mara but I enjoy getting in the thick of it so if it's a point of preference than this seems solid

best of luck ;)

That HSCP-Gunner combo on top of Sensor Jammer-Quickdraw is pretty cool. It punishes someone twice for losing the Focus. Not only do they not have a Focus for punching through QD's Jammer, but they don't have the Focus to defend against her return fire if they manage to sneak some damage through.
