Dear FFG, Dr. Aphra please?

By VadersMarchKazoo, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

To your High Exaltedness, the great FFG, We decree that Dr. Aphra should be developed for IA immediately. She will therefore be taken to local game stores and cast into the pit of Imperial Assault campaigns and skirmishes. Once deployed , her opponents will find a new definition of stun and weakened, as they are slowly defeated over a dozen activations.

I think the big black wookiee bounty hunter would fit into IA better than a field assistant/archeologist.

I don't know about better/worse. But Black Krrsatan is a must.

I don't want to spoil too much but I wonder which of the three factions she'd be included on...

They have introduced the neutural deployment card. But they haven't used this with a figure yet. It could be fun to play around with this.

I think there's probably more chance of Gary the Stormtrooper making an appearance.

we can't have everything and I think it would be better for the company to be able to introduce new characters that expand their stories that may or may not have a link to the new canon. If Rogue One taught us anything, it's that the Imperial Assault game is rich with heroes yet to be named.

For my vote, I would still prefer Nar Shaddaa settings to get some Star Wars love. (I mean c'mon, how long do we have to wait for 4-LOM and Zuckass?)

Considering her popularity and the inclusion if BT/000, I'd be surprised if she doesn't show up at some point. But I wouldn't expect her before the next dedicated skirmish wave, I can't see them using her for a box villain at this stage.

Please no...instead of a mediocre character that was purely created to satisfy the screaming fangirls (and cosplayers) I'd rather have a different one.

Why not a charakter for the fangirls? Why only charakters for the fanboys?
Is Aphra a Lara Croft in the StarWars-Universe?

I want Asoka Tano for IA! : D

Considering we got 0-0-0 and BT I doubt Aphra is far behind.

The most exciting thing with Aphra is she'll come with a skirmish upgrade for vader! What better way to introduce this fix??

so we could play again with one of the most iconic characters of all time!

Thats not what I'm saying.

I'm sure a lot of boys and girls like Nien Nunb, Mara Jade, Jan Ors or Kyle Katarn....

Well, I think it is sexist or just spiteful what you argue. She was created as an anlog to indian jones in darth vader sercet op- team. His team mirrors lukes from a new hope. a wookie, two droids and harrsion ford. Just more indiana jones then smuggler. There are serveral indian jones quotes in comics. Don`t think there was long protest from “fangirls” to use more indina jones quotes in cosülaying. Bur whatever.

don`t know if you have read the comics or her spinoff series? There not that bad. Even have some fum moments and add something new to the star wars universe.

(also, do you really think, that fangirls are below you? because you are a higher level of nerd? Then you are not a nerd, you are a bully.)

What a load of sexist bull ****.

I just feel she was created mainly for commercial reasons: she's sometimes depicted in a manga-like style, (which) appeals to younger girls, easy to cosplay outfit....etc. Everything about the character feels like fanservice to a segment of the fanbase.

Yes, I read the first two DV TPB's and think she's (along with Phasma and baby Boba) one of the worst SW characters of all time.

And before I'm called sexist again: characters like Leia, Mara Jade, Ripley (Alien), Sarah Connor (Terminator) are fantastic...just like Jyn Erso and Hera are great SW characters.

Just my 2 cents.

**** you're salty af

Seems inevitable tbh.

We're getting her droids.

She's showing up in one of the upcoming LCG expansions.

Just a matter of time I think.

To each their own. I like her. I think she's the Indiana Jones/Lara Croft of the SW universe. Is that fully original, no, but it's fun. She's well-written in the comics and quite original from a character perspective. You really don't get truly neutral survivor-types very much. Sure, Han started that way. Now that we see that the new HoE expansion revolving around mysterious artifacts, I think she would have been a good fit, if a little young (maybe 20ish) for that time period

She did just make the fan vote for next Hasbro action figure. And she has a solo comic with a major crossover event into the mainline SW comic. She's getting a big push across the board.

I heard speculation that Dr. Aphra might also have a role in the upcoming Han Solo movie. So there is that as well.

Really? No character names currently revealed for the movie indicate any Aphra appearance... where did you get your speculation from?

Can't recall, but I remember seeing the article and excitedly pointing out the name and having a long discussion about how awesome that is with my friends who didn't know of her. I know the article also mentioned donald glover as young lando.

I hope that's not the role of The Queen of Dragons given that Aphra should be at least a bit Asian. Though sounds like an unlikely rumor anyways

I have a hard time seeing how Aphra's one of the "worst Star Wars Characters of all time"- I'd say she's mediocre at worst. Having read all of the Vader trades, though, I think she turns out being incredibly interesting.

Anyway, it seems like from this last wave that we're really starting to leave the OT movies behind and will focus on other things during that era- Aphra is certainly a possibility soon.

Idk, she's too similar to Jyn tbh. Both are quick, sneaky pistol wielders and have very similar hair and costumes.

I think we'll probably have settle for using Jyn together with BT and 000 via Jawa and Temp Alliance.
