First company with Acrylics up now!
That was quick
Isshh... not pretty though (especially the tokens).

I actually like the tokens quite a bit. I'm probably going to buy some. The movement templates are a bit plain. I think the official ones will work fine.
Meh, they are ugly.
Half the reason to spend that much money on them is their looks.
Yeah, no thanks. Really spendy too
I am glad I'm not the only one who thinks they are ugly. I'll wait for something I find more appealing, but to each their own.
I actually don't have a problem with the core set tokens. The only reason I'd want something different is so that I stop grabbing my opponent's stuff and vice versa.
I'm considering just buying a 1" button maker and making my own.
I think the biggest issue is that you have to buy a complete set of everything for the tokens. If I could just buy more blight, or more inspiration, that would be better. I don't see (currently) a need for 8 stun and 8 immobilize tokens, but I will need 2 of their sets in order to have close to a reasonable amount of inspiration tokens. I thought about buying these instead but the shipping doubles the cost:

Throw some paint on the edges of the tokens and then hit them with a couple of coats of varnish. Assuming you've already got the painting supplies it's close to free, it can be done quickly without much effort, and gives you distinctive tokens.

I've done this before with acrylic paint markers. Yellow, blue, red, green, orange around the rims of the appropriate tokens. It makes them stand out ridiculously well. Maybe I'll do this.
I have several core sets, so I just glued two of each Token together. Gives them a nice hefty feel, still looks good, and even if (when) they hit my painted models, they won't damage them.
I was hoping for the runes. It's the only cardboard part of the game I wish was acrylic.

I'm worried that since the runes are used to generate random reaults that theycwill be treated like are dice in other FFG games. Only ones put out by FFG are permitted and the only modifications that you can perform is by superficially marking them.
For those in the UK, a little bird told me that Cog O' Two will have something out next week (if not earlier)

Given the usually prohibitive cost of shipping from the US of A to Europe on top of customs... Yes please!
Just wonder, why would I buy these? The original cardboard ones are fine for me. (Even prettier)

While the cardboard token and templates are perfectly fine, there's a few reasons to go down the acrylic route
- Cardboard warps over time, if you spill water on it, it's going to bloat out as well
- After tons of use, the tokens will get worn out
- Some of the acrylic suppliers out there do some really nice designs, some even work with you to produce your own custom designs
- best reason of all? SHINY!
Grammar
Highbridge Designs (Etsy) is going to have some acrylic out soon, along with a wooden template organizer, like the one for X-wing.
I hope they announce here when it's ready.
I'm sure I will.

Well, I'm usually not one who falls for the SHINY-trap, especially not for tokens with that price tag. I can understand the issue that token get worn out over time. But I have 2 core sets, so I don't see a problem here for a while, so I rather waste some money on some army upgrades.
For very intense players, that may be different, so it is good that there's a supplier to provide stuff for these guys.

I fall for the 'ooh-shiny!' trap *all* the bloody time.

Awesome. Can't wait . I am always looking for the increase in quality no matter how small.
It took a little longer than I first thought - but Cog o' Two have released their acrylics for Runewars.
Handy for those of you in the UK (and Europe)

Remember - if you're not keen on the colours of acrylic they've chosen, Jon and Michaela are usually quite open to replacing it for another colour at zero cost
