A score to settle question

By Onslaught8403, in X-Wing Rules Questions

When you assign the "A debt to pay" card to one enemy ship. Does that affect only apply to the ship that has the "a score to settle" or all ships attacking that one ship?

Also, when the ship that had "A score to settle" card is removed/ destroyed. Does the "A debt to pay" card removed or not until that ship is destroyed/removed.

Thanks

1. The effect only applies to the ships with the upgrade and matching condition.

2. The cards don't specify, but it doesn't really matter. When one of these cards is removed from play, the other has no effect.

When attack a ship that has the "A Score to Settle" Upgrade card, you may change 1 [Focus] result to a [Crit] result.

A Debt to Pay is given to one specific ship. The effect of A Debt to Pay is solely aimed at the ship with A Score to Settle equipped.

Mixing it up a little: the rules and cards don't tell the players what to do with "A Debt to Pay" if an effect forces the player with "A Score to Settle" to discard the EPT. (Looking at you Boba Fett.) As precedents: Kylo Ren's condition persists after Kylo is destroyed, while Rex's condition is discarded after Rex is destroyed. It still doesn't really matter, because if "A Score to Settle" is no longer in play, then "A Debt to Pay" does nothing and vice versa.

The card and it's condition mirror each other. If one is gone the other has nothing to do.
