So i recently picked up Imperial assault, i bought the core set and Boba Fett as my first purchases, i'm playing in a campaign at my lgs and i tried 2 skirmish games and found out that Boba Fett is actually very bad in skirmish, his 13 points is just too high for a fragile character, i ordered the Royal Guard Champion,ISB infiltrators,Kayn Somos and the Grand Inquisitor but the last 2 are BO, now i'm wondering what else to get, keep in mind this is for casual play because there are no tournies in my area.

You'll find that unique characters that have come out more recently will be better costed for skirmish (and campaign for that matter). When the game launched, their formula for costing many unique characters was a bit flawed (when compared to non-unique, multiple-figure deployments).

As far as what to buy - since you're not worried about being super competitive, I'd recommend any figures you happen to like from the movies/books - and I'd also recommend getting the 'big box' expansions ('Return to Hoth', 'Jabbas Realm', etc). Some great deployments in those boxes that only come in those boxes. Also check out some youtube matches and see if you find any mechanics you dig more than others, then focus on units that behave the way you'd prefer to win...

I highly recommend captain terro as you clearly like imperial! The ISBs are fantastic as well! you might want to pick up blaise, as he can be pretty BA as well, but not for direct attacking, but for support. If you want to get into scum, jabba's realm is a great place to start as everything in there is fantastic for mercs!

If you like imperials the Jabbas Realm box has Jet Troopers which are very good
