MC80L Build - minimal fighter cover

So I've wanted to try a list with a big powerful ship. I have had success with the Liberty.. especially if I can protect it's sides from Demolisher and circling Kittens. I like Madine to get the MC80 pointed the right direction but Sato is tempting if I could have Tycho hop around to trigger his effect. Any thoughts?

now 18pts to purchase something Rogue like a YT2400 or another A-wing squad. I love Tycho and Shara, but they'll die in 1 turn to anybody who's trying which may not be the speed bump you're looking for. 33pts will get you 3 regular awings + 18= 51 which you can configure in several ways. I like the YT2400, but I also like Dash and Han or similar Rogues in low squad builds bc they can take care of themselves

So the idea here was to have Foresight and the transports protect the sides of the LMC80. The Bright Hope title was to help him survive a little longer but I'm not married to it. As long as he can deflect a Demolisher run or obscure some long range attacks I'm good. Bright Hope would let him absorb some bomber fire or just make them look elsewhere.

I really like the scout variants of the MC30. The idea was that he would help protect the other side of the LMC80 and wait for a chance to strike from there or just shoot at long range with his TRC. Foresight works better from long range anyway so if i'm taking the torpedo version without Mothma there's not much point in Foresight.. that would save me more points.

You really think I'd get more mileage out of some rogues? I feel like the scatter on the Awings gives them some staying power plus they are counter which is always makes them harder to contend with.. but I might have to rethink that idea. You've given me some things I'll have to think about here.. Thanks!

I've ran a decent amount of liberty lists lately and would say you want 4 fighters if you are only bringing a few. Tyco and shara then 2 generic a wings. They can be a half decent alpha strike or if you feed them in slowly, 1 a turn it's possible to tie up while bomber wings with them (unless they have Intel and deploy it effectively)

I've been running madine liberties since late October. As you've designed it, they work, but you have to be willing to work at flying them well. When I get more time to think I'll write up my worlds list and thoughts on various load outs and play strategies.
