I think for set three I am just going all in and buying two Saga Sets from Team Covenant.
My local game store (Czech Republic) received something like 18 boxes. So I am lucky to have 5 o them (and openned legendaries in 4+ copies ). Distributor is Esdevium.

As a fellow British crumpet eater, may i ask where you are able to preorder from (assuming these arnt local places)?
Here in sunny Cape Town, my local store secured 40 boxes.
No issues for us.
Up country they are sitting just as good.
I think a lot of the complainers were too slow out the gate in ordering season.
You snooze, you lose.
My local LGS pre-ordered 160 boxes between 3 different distributors, 100/40/20. Only receiving 34 boxes, 30/4/0. They have received emails that come the next wave, May 25th, the 2 smaller orders should be fully filled. Hears to hoping.
Patience, I believe, is everyone's best bet. Come December or whenever the new base set comes out and we're still experiencing shortages then I'll be concerned with the future of this game. Though locally there's two game stores that are marking up the prices of booster boxes. Highest is $150 USD.
I called Miniature Market this morning because I got an in-stock email, but it was still listed as out of stock. They told me they would not have any stock to sell as boxes after filling preorders. I guess selling singles is more important than making customers happy.
I went in to my LGS and walked out with a box and a few boosters.

That's not really fair. People buying singles are customers too.
I usually buy 2 or 3 boxes then fill out my wants/needs with singles. At a certain point it becomes more economical than buying boosters.

And for those who can't buy boxes because they've been broken into singles?
I've no issue with a singles market, but it appears (rightly or wrongly I don't know) that certain retailers see more profit in breaking their boosters down into singles.
As a casual player who just wants to buy a booster here or there, this appearance is somewhat off putting. I've got 2 decks i play with and otherwise have flogged my collection on ebay/facebook, whether or not i actively buy back in to this game is literally dependant on whether or not there's boosters by the till when i head to my FLGS...
I'm aware that puts me in a minority.

There is nothing wrong with your method of buying Destiny. However, given the games popularity, you have to be willing to be patient to get the product you want.
Those that are impatient are better served preording boxes early and aggressively chasing down singles in their price range. For better or worse those that follow this method will be more likely to get the product they want early.
Having said that, it seems SoR is already easier to get in many areas than Awakenings was at this time. I think we are moving forward even if we haven't reached the finish line yet.
Edited by StarbaneWell, being more prepared this time, the stores are limiting how much you can buy. I've gone to two stores today. One store limited it to 3 packs per customer, one store limited it to (drumroll) 1 box! Apparently they got 16 boxes in and they aren't super worried. The first store actually got even more, but they did preorders, so that's where most of it went.

Wayland games, dark sphere, chaos cards, and tritex, all orders placed at the start of March. 3 are on the way, the other (who will remain nameless) haven't responded or updated the status.
Just disappointed with this whole SoR booster hype / release (or should I say non-release), especially on May the 4th!
Kept expecting to read something on the main FFG site about SoR, or the problems, or new dates, but nothing... nada... zilch...
Especially after the shortage of the Awakenings booster...
FFG needs to get its but in gear. Hate to see this awesome games momentum die due to availability.
FWIW:
My local game store, who has VERY good relationships with their distributors, ordered 140+ boxes. They received only 24 and only doled out 1 box to the fist 24 people who preordered.
The owner also stated to me that he would be getting "Wave 2" or SoR on May 25th, just 3 weeks folks!
Had another buddy of mine stop by our a shop in our state's capitol, who told him they only received 5 boxes out of the 40+ that they ordered; and even though my friend was there right at opening today, the 5 boxes had already been "bought" by the store employees.
So, thats what I know!
Yeah, bunch available on Ebay right now. After you include ebay fees and shipping costs, they are pretty close to MSRP. Yes shipping and fees suck, but that is part of buying stuff on there.
@Damore Typically for CCGs, buying singles for the exact cards you want for the deck you want is the best way to go. So singles are how people typically prefer to buy their cards. However at the prices they are charging right now...... better buy boosters.
I think if you buy all the cards included in the Saga Set from MM you will end up paying north of $1,500. Just from the rares and legendaries they are getting around $300-$350 a box. Of course this just came out and buying any singles until mid June is just stupid.
Well so far this game is doomed in my local area of New Jersey. The handful of local stores in a 25 mile radius all have had no luck procuring any boxes, as far as I have been told. That is really bad for a game that so many people want to play. If I cant buy any SoR then I'm not gonna continue to play or follow its releases. Neither are the other members of my gaming group. Best part is, FFG puts an article in Star Wars Insider, a global magazine, about their game SW Destiny, and a new player would never be able to find any product to play with. Why pay for all the advertising when its become a niche game accessible to most. Hope you guys come to GENCON this year with thick skin, your gonna need it with all the complaints.
Well it sucks your local game stores suck, but you know, New Jersey. Face to Face Games have over 10 saga sets (nice rip off) available on ebay. They are Canadian, so you know, pricey.
The product is out there. Will it be out there in two weeks time? No. In three weeks time? Yes, the next wave will hit then. That wave will stick around for a bit longer and then the next round of Awakenings will hit.
A friend told me that the Game Swap in Mason, OH had 6 extra boxes today so immediately drove up there from Cincinnati. Turns out they are selling them in store for $130 per box...that's the last time I go to that store.
I didn't pre-order and was desperate. I bought my one box, got lunch, changed all of my clothes and came back. They sold me another What have I become?

not true we preordered as soon as you could and got 3 out of 30.

preordering early has nothing to do with it, preordered as soon as they started taking them, ordered 30 got 3, owner says he is no longer dealing with ffg which I don't blame him at all.

you just don't get it, product being available three weeks from the release date is unacceptable for a game like this. This type of game don't follow the same rules as there other games. People are not going to play a game were they have to hunt the cards down when other games you can order just fine.
How many times can the short us for the ffg faithful start to see the problem here.
I noticed a lot of the ffg faithful are the ones who got plenty of boxes, of course they wont see a problem.

Omg I was going to go here today. Glad I didn't.
.........and....after saying that. Went there and got one. Lol

I live in a fairly small market that saw my store get 3 boxes out of the first wave of Awakenings, not even close to filling preorders. They filled their preorders wave 3 and only ever received 3 boxes of boosters for the shelf.
My store owner already announced he would be able to fill all of his preorders for SoR on release day and have 8 boxes left over. This is a huge improvement for us locally. We will have more boxes of SoR available on day one than we have received of Awakenings so far.
Similar situation. My store got like 4 boxes of awakenings, other one in town got like 2. Main store got 15 boxes of SoR and the other store got a similar number
My store got 18 and the distributor had plenty and doesn't expect there to be any supply problems. I ended up with 5 myself from preorders and will have to sell a couple of them off. Ebay is going to be FULL of boxes.
Short supply seems to be regional and distributor based.
