Looking for Counter advice

By apapasmurf73, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So having advanced to the final game of our local tournament I find myself facing a well put together Rebel list that I have struggled with before. Was wondering if the community might have some advice/tactics to give me a leg over

2 Lancer-class Pursuit Crafts ( 30 points)

And here is my List

Assault Frigate Mark II B (72 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Boosted Comms ( 4 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
= 89 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Jainas Light ( 2 points)
- Dual Turbolaser Turrets ( 5 points)

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Dual Turbolaser Turrets ( 5 points)

4 Z-95 Headhunter Squadrons ( 28 points)
4 X-Wing Squadrons ( 52 points)
1 Jan Ors ( 19 points)

Thanks a bunch

Cheers

DTT >>> TRC

Jan Ors >>> HWK

If by that you mean swap DTT for TRC and Jan for a plain Hawk, I cannot switch anything in the list as it is a tournament.... looking for tips/tricks/ideas

cheers

do you have the bid? (too lazy to count up points)

I'd try to play to the objectives, and take out his small stuff, you can go just as fast and then eat up his squads and run and hid from the big pickle. I don't know if you've got enough to bring it down.

Shara needs to be anti-squaded if possible to burn defense tokens or get lucky with the accuracies

Ok. Sorry.

You have activation advantages and deployment advantage so I would try going first if you can choose (I think you are tied but I could be wrong).

Focus on his big fish. With the help of Ackbar and DTT you should be able to put it down. Navigate and avoid side arcs. Yoir ships are better for this than his ships. With first-last shots you can avoid his mc30. Keep in mind the fact that CR90 can ram the MC30 if needed. Ignore Shara thanks to Jan Ors and go after what matters: the bombers. The lack of escorts should help you.

Advanced Gunnery could be a good choice. You should choose one of your CR90. If he choose his MC80 or even his MC30 good for you: extra points.

Capture the VIP is fine if that MC80 scares you. With ET it could do. It will mean 50 free points for him. Not a big deal if you blow up his flagship.

Solar Corona means giving up your deployment advantage.

As a second player will be the opposite. Solar Corona will be his choice probably.

Basically this. You have space superiority, and you need to use it. Your X-wings should easily mop up the Rogues, especially if you can trick him into giving you an alpha strike, and should be able to do a bit of bombing themselves afterwards. Use your superior deployments to force him to deploy his big ships before yours, pick something, and throw everything at it. Kite his ships with yours, you're faster, so make him come to you. You get more mileage out of Ackbar overall, just don't let a CR90 get caught and blown away and you'll do fine. Good luck.

Thanks gang! I will do my best to skirt him, really do want to avoid the pickle as it has been the bane of everyone else he has played

Cheers

papasmurf!

It is easier to focus down and take down smaller units that are weaker in defense/health pool. Doing this way cut down the overall firepower of the group quickly.
