Big Mini for the rebels?

It would be an interesting twist to give the Rebels the biggest mech in the game, but that looks far too big to fit on most maps, if any.

Maybe a Baby Gargantua? :)

But yeah you have the point

I personally think that Rebels don't really have a place for a large or massive figure in this game.

You could argue maybe Skirmish side, they could have one, but in campaign it's a bit tricky...

That said, I think they missed the opportunity to have a Tauntaun in Return to Hoth

I've heard this before. But I don't see how it'd break the game. I don't think I'd go over a 2x1 but I think with 6 speed and maybe mobile you can work around the movement constraints. I think a nice big 2x1 tank would be great. Plus, we're pretty tank-shy right now in the campaign. Gaarkan, Biv and Onar are all we've got. Am I missing something? Do you think it'd be too strong or too weak for the rebels?

I'm not sure I follow all of your points, so I'll answer as best I can...

Never said anything would "break the game". What I'm referring to is that I don't believe there is thematic space for a large or massive figure in the Rebels faction. (I must admit I was mostly thinking about vehicles). I then went on to mention a Tauntaun, which should've been in the RtH box in my opinion.

I agree a Tauntaun, if designed, should be a 2x1 piece (making it large), but I have no more thoughts about design beyond that.

As for strong/weak, I'm not really sure. Are we talking a large Hero or Ally? I was thinking that there would probably be a lot of existing mission balance issues with a 2x1 or 2x2 Hero (or ally for that matter)

Imagine a Large Ally earned by the Rebels being brought along cheaply with Murne to every mission? The congestion on certain maps would be insane.

Ok. I get the thematic issue. Certainly congestion could be an issue as could maneuvering but I'd be willing to give it a try. Thanks for clarifying

If anything the only massive I could see happening in the unannounced Endor box is an AT-AT hijacked by Ewoks. That way the inserts could be used by someone other than Weiss.

Speeder bike riders.

Speed = 0.
"On the Move: You may not declare attacks unless you have left your space this turn."
Special action: Place your figure in an empty space 8 spaces away."

:)

I say, they don't need it. The less big figures the better

This may seem a bit wonky but maybe some kind of beast trainer type hero or ally. They could come with a 2x1 based doglike creature. I vaguely remember there being something like that in one of the prequels. I think in the Tusken camp.

The Tusken's dogs were called Massiff s. They were also used by Clone K9 units.

Other candidates would be the anooba that the bounty hunter Embo has as a sidekick.

I like the idea of a hero having a pet type thing, but having them share a base doesn't seem right. The pet is constantly at their side?

Maybe if they made a Dowutin hero. Those guys seem much larger than one space.

A Besalisk, like Dex from AOTC, would make sense as a large figure. I think there was a Jedi General of the same race in the CW cartoon series and he was massive compared to the clone troopers. Plus it's an interesting alien design that could look really cool as a mini!

Heck, that could BE a map, and quite a large one at that.

The Rebels have Wookies, they are big and scary and Chewbacca / Han Solo combo is hard to deal with, but if that's not big enough then how about the All Terrain Recon Transport (AT-RT) from clone wars - then we can get Captain Rex in the game too (double pack - mounted Rex and foot Rex)

I would doubt they'd do this as a massive. More likely we'd see a creature as a companion.

That's what I pictured it like. Just a companion to a small based figure. Not massive, just big.

I was re-watching the Warcraft movie this morning, which I think is a decent film. One of my favorite parts is when the Griffon is tearing apart orcs. I came back to this post and someone said something about a wookiee. Then I thought about the Varactyl from AOTC. A wookiee on a varactyl. I could get behind that.
