Good luck to all of you at Worlds!

By Maturin, in Star Wars: Armada

You tube doubtful.

Use the "past broadcasts" tab on Twitch.

I appreciate that we can see it, but pls excuse me saying so, the Armada commentary has been awful in the past.

In any case, I try to stay up for the cast. Replay is just not the same :)

yeah, gotta agree with you. Also, having the lists available is also neat. Youtubers do a better job than FFG on the video department.

That is just blasphemy to talk like that about Michael Gernes. I will take his commentary and insights every day, all day!!!

ehh, he does alright, but I'd like to have a top armada player comment as well (one that can express himself in a correct manner at least.)

WWPDSteven has a nice radiophonic voice for the job I feel.

My bad...it was Alex Davy and Sam Stewart who did the commentary last year....they are only two of the main developers on Armada...who wouldn't want to hear EVERYTHING they have to say!

well, writing this I knew it wouldnt go uncritisized or called blasphemy, but I certainly dont suggest EVERYONE disliked it. And its ok, I was criticising myself, after all :)

I felt it was unprofessional, especially compared to Xwing where the guys seemed to know what they talk about. Armada was like "I very much question this move"...."what a brilliant move it was".

Making a game and playing a game are different things. I'd much rather hear the person who plays every day and has the experience than listen to the person who designed the game.

It's like Star Craft commentators. The most enjoyable ones to listen to are the ones who put in hundreds to thousands of hours into the game. The ones who are a part of the community and discussion boards. The ones who have a friendly connection with the players since they have likely played them.

There is no doubt that a developers passion for the game is no where near the person who plays every day does. Watching the video again, I did question how involved Sam Stewart was with the game when he got the definition of H9 turbolasers wrong. How can a dev not know every in and out of the game they are involved in? Alex Davy though...you can tell he is as much of a fan of the game as he is a developer.

Can someone at Worlds ask M. Gernes if they intend to errata the weaker cards pretty please???

Never gonna happen

Does anyone have the top 8 lists or so as archetype?

Very keen to see this, actually.

Probably all two-activation, double-ISD lists with no fighters, tho - those are super competitive.

Any more news from the spy net? Or did we run out of bothans?

Well, round 4 finished about 40 minutes ago, so it would be nice to see an updated top 10...

I find this lack of news disturbing

Caldias is playing "Ben" in 5th round. Caldias is at 28 points.

Well I can tell you the Canadian Contingents list Archetype. It's known as "Gallant Hell" because its hell to play against in the hands of an experienced player. Gallant haven, Yavaris, a pair of transports, 2 relay freighters and a balanced mix of squadrons

Rieekan?

Sure sounds like it, right?

Most likely.

I'm starting to understand the "stale meta" criticism. Fortunately our local meta is still pretty much all over the place, people preferring to experiment with stuff rather than min-max.

Thats the Ace Hole list.

Yeah I think its rieekan. I hate that list. Mostly because no one can figure out a viable Imperial list that can beat it and do well generally.

You can call it whatever you like but if it's flown by people that call it Gallant Hell and they are all in the top 8 as of day 1 they might just have naming rights :)

I'm gonna laugh so hard if the finale is 2 Rieekan ace holes facing each other...

The World Champs played each other (again). I have word JJ went down 3-8 to Johnathan.
