Rieekan Imo shouldn't work with non-named squadrons, but that's not the primary problem. Primary problem to me is squadrons are the best damage vs everything.

My list I'm running for the Summer Vassal tourny should be an adequate counter to Rieekan.

I want to make a comment about top8 too.

I want to ask these questions, of the top8 lists

1. Were any under 5 activations?

2. Did any medium ships show up in any of the top8? (I guess Gallant Haven in top4 is one)

Let me tell you...man this was (is) a great tournament. It didn't end up going my way in the end, but my games vs @Caldiasand @pt106are true memories I will always really cherish. We had brain numbing decisions but had real fun playing.

This was hands down the toughest matchups and competition I've ever hit in a tourney. I made the right call with my list (I think) I just never faced the lists it was designed for. :)

My last matchup was against a CR90B ET RBD Rieekan list. ****

I can say that number 2 and 7 seed are running Rieekan aces, Gallent Haven death ball.

Ok, so currently known, 4 out of the possible 8 (not full data yet) are Rieekan ace lists. 1 is Ackbar. missing 3.

You pretty much nailed why I don't have much issue with flotes (mutliple roles/price point leading to their widespread use as opposed to being broken).

I think at this point, its safe to say Rieekan really needs to be looked at good and hard from a balance perspective. Maybe the threat of Sloane and the Quasar will bring him down to Earth (Hoth?) though. I look forward to a more complete picture of the fleets taken, but certainly this mirrors what many of us have seen on our tables, and I hope the devs take a good look.

I do think we've seen a number of things come out that have greatly increased their efficacy and ease of use (ie; Rieekan, BCC's, Relay, Strategic, Flight Commander, FCT's, Boosted Comms, Flotes, certain titles that have been with us since day one but get stronger each time squadrons do) and very little tech outside of other squadrons to combat them (Flechettes on a raider. Kallus. QLTs a little? I mean, theres other stuff but its junk). Quasar's red AS die is a good step. I'm hoping that turret thing improves flak fire in some way. We'll see.

Also buff demolisher no glads top 4!

you know, if FFG buffed the anti-squadron capabilities of ships by making QLT and PDR less bad, the squadron game might not be so bad or at least, there would be a counter to squadrons that is something other than squadrons (and no, FT don't count because you need 1st player for them.)

Though you'll still need AA squadrons to use those upgrades effectively. And thats ok.

you should still count the number of flotillas for the top 8 lists.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get something close to 25-30.

Tsk.... Due to the expanded objectives I have a fear that D+O won't work anymore... Before I could use my opponents objectives to make up last points but it does not look like the objective selection that people choose will allow that...

I could use my opponents Advanced Gunnery, Precision Strike against them... Most Wanted though. ..

6:30 Central US time, which is GMT - 6, which I can only remember as it's an hour behind me on the East Coast with GMT - 5.
