Imperial List Help

By j_man_04, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I'm playing a casual game tomorrow, and was going back and forth on a few Imperial lists. Opponent typically flies y-wing spam or Rebel ace lists.

Primary Imp List (97)

"Duchess" (29) - TIE Striker
Expertise (4), Adaptive Ailerons (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

"Quickdraw" (39) - TIE/SF Fighter
Expertise (4), Fire Control System (2), Sensor Cluster (2), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

"Omega Leader" (29) - TIE/FO Fighter
Juke (2), Comm Relay (3), Stealth Device (3)

Snap Shootin' (100)

Major Rhymer (37) - TIE Bomber
Snap Shot (2), Assault Missiles (5), Extra Munitions (2), Lightweight Frame (2)

Omega Squadron Pilot (19) - TIE/FO Fighter
Snap Shot (2)

Omega Squadron Pilot (19) - TIE/FO Fighter
Snap Shot (2)

Zeta Specialist (25) - TIE/SF Fighter
Fire Control System (2) title (0)

No Fancy Name (100)

The Inquisitor (32) - TIE Adv. Prototype
Swarm Leader (3), Stealth Device (3)

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15) - TIE/FO Fighter

Epsilon Squadron Pilot (15) - TIE/FO Fighter

Bounty Hunter (39) - Firespray-31
Tail Gunner (2), Engine Upgrade (4)

I really like all of em. But I think the one with no name is my favorite

I think that list can handle Rebel aces well because they'll be maxed out at 2-3 ship and I can sit at range three and throw five dice. But a TLT Swarm will rip it apart. I've had success with the top one, and I'm leaning towards it because of my familiarity, I'm but worried it won't last.

Here's a good phrase, you can can have a great list but if you don't know how to fly it you're done for! You mentioned rebel aces is that the list they're flying? I'm just thinking having that fire-spray might make you more formidable, it's just the fact that you get a large ship on the board.

Just one question, if there's no store tournaments in your area do you just play with friends or is there a group or community to join?

That inquisitor dies really fast!

your relaying on 4 defense dice and one evade toquen with no modifiers (focus and autothrusters), you will lose the SD very early in the game.

the fyrespray is not very strong and it would be the second target, by then you would need to fight with only 30 points left against 3 list ship even if the other player had one ship remaining most lists have 3 ships costing more than 30 points each so you would lose by points.

try this: (98)

"Omega Leader" (26) - TIE/FO Fighter
Juke (2), Comm Relay (3)

"Quickdraw" (38) - TIE/SF Fighter
Ruthlessness (3), Fire Control System (2), Pattern Analyzer (2), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

"Backdraft" (34) - TIE/SF Fighter
Veteran Instincts (1), Fire Control System (2), Pattern Analyzer (2), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

the sf's are ps 9 and with the 98 points you will always have the iniciative bid.

you can change the ruthlessness on QuickDraw for something else like outmanoeuvred or squad leader to give an extra action to omega or just put him with trick shot and a missile.

omega leader is the most nasty ship to play against you just need to make sure that no more than one ship can fire at it.

the sf's are very good on making damage but the dial is very bad!

with the patern analysers you will always have the action so it's like a sontir or the inquisitor you just need to clear the stress after.

the s'loop is the best friend on the sf. Your opponent will go crazy with the unpredictability of those 2 sf's.

remember the focus is very important for the sf defense, só use on offence only if your going to give a lot of damage.

We have store tournaments from time to time. We have a pretty competitive scene here. Several of the regulars go to all the regional and world tournaments. Two of them finished top 10 at Hoth. I'm not quite on their level, but I go against them from time to time.

I also just play casually with friends and co-workers at work. If I'm flying Imps, it's definitely a casual game because I'm a Rebel player and I've never had as much time (and money!) to invest into Imperials.

At range 3, it will have five evade dice, up to six if it's obstructed (unless it's the TLT swarm build). It's definitely a glass cannon if something gets in close, though.

Now that I'm looking at it, I can go with autothrusters and have a point left over for the v1 title, which gives me an evade with a target lock.
