What Starfighters/Ships would you like to see be made in (a) future wave(s)

By Ragnok Gortsnik, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I'm a long time fan of Star Wars and have been watching, reading and enjoying the SW Universe since I was 7 years old.

One thing that always amazed me and made me super excited to delve deeper into the expanded universe was the number of varying fleet ships and starfighters used by the numerous organizations throughout the Star Wars Timeline.

So my question is, if you could choose any one fighter/large base, or epic ship for FFG to make next, what would you choose?

I would be ecstatic to see the Imperial Shadow Droid made for x-wing because it is so uniquely different from other imperial fighters. (For those who don't know what it is, I have a link posted below)

Personally, I would love to see the N-1 Starfighter brought out. Technically speaking, at least a hanger full of these survived the Empire, and was even used in the (attempted) liberation of Naboo. Not sure if they were all shot down to the last ship, but I know the Empire managed to put the revolt down. Would still be cool though. Could even see Rhys Dallows or some other Bravo flight members as pilots.

What should the Shadow Droids have for their stats and abilities? Perhaps their "sixth sense for identifying potential threats" would let them adjust their maneuver dial, as is done with "Stay on Target"?

Me too!

What should the stats and abilities be? Would it be legit to have Anakin as a pilot? Warmachine/Hordes allows earlier and advanced versions of Warlocks but I haven't seen this feature for pilots yet in X-Wing.

You'll probably have to google this obscure rarity, but my vote is for the assault gunboat.

2 Attack, 2 or 3 Agility, 3 hull, 2 shields. Able to equip a torpedo and an astromech. Maybe have a retrofit card that gives tech or modification. Keep it at 2 agility if you give it a system upgrade, 3 agility if not.

Canon says the N-1 moved faster than an X-Wing, but just slower than a TIE. I think 2 Agility for sure, but I personally don't think 3 is out of the question. I might even say drop the hull to 2 in exchange for 3 Agility.

@Arctic Dragon Games

Considering that the shadow droid is an imperial ace's brain in a cybernetic fighter, I would think that 3-3-2-2 would be an appropriate stat spread. The low hull / shield stats would make them something akin to whisper without the nuts cloaking ability. I could see them having something similar to or even exactly the same as adv. targeting computers. It would keep them in line with typical imperial starfighter specs; strong offensive firepower but really glass-cannon-like in that they can die to one or two attacks.

I could see ffg taking pilots from the prequel series and introducing them into the game but it would most likely be as older/different versions of themselves. They already have darth vader so I don't see them adding anakin unless they add the prequel trilogy/clone wars starfighters into the game.

they already have the arc-170 so they could add republic and CIS ships in pretty easily.

What is this assault gunboat that you speak of? Surely none such thing exists.

I would love to see the TIE Hunter or maybe the TIE/D Automated Starfighter

I would also like to see the N-1 starfighter and the J-Type diplomatic barge or Naboo Cruiser from Episode 2 for a epic ship. I know it does not have any weapons; but I couldn't imagine anyone passing up such a beautiful ship. Plus you know all the artists would love to get their hands on one and paint it to their liking. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/J-type_diplomatic_barge I have no idea what the stats would be; but I would still like to see it in a future wave.

Another small ship choice that's nothing special and I know the Rebel Alliance doesn't need another heavy starfighter; but I would actually like to see the M-Class Starfighter aka "M-wing". Of course FFG would have to give it something special to get peoples interest. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/M-class_starfighter I imagine its stats being cross between the Y-wing and ARC-170.

For a large ship I would like to see the big brother to the Fang Fighter, the Kom'rk Class Fighter/Transport or Gauntlet. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Kom'rk-class_fighter/transport Again I wouldn't be sure about the stats; but I know it wouldn't be a ship you wanna take on too lightly.

I'd say keep the N-1 at 2 Agility but give it the Boost and and Evade options in its action bar.

Both these shuttles would be fantastic to have, especially the Zeta-class cargo shuttle because that ship is gonna have to have both Imperial and Rebel cards.

Never heard of it.

Jaina solo piloting a stealth x with shadow bombs. Ability that allows her to move the shadow bomb with a 1 movement template in any direction. (Using the force to guide it like she does in the books) but has to give up attacking with a primary weapon that turn or give up taking an action. Ship could have cloaking abilities like the phantom maybe to give rebels that option

I completely agree that the Rebels should have this option, not just because of the Imperial Tie Phantom; but because Scum and Villainy have the G-1A Starfighter aka Mist Hunter. Its good to get those equivalent choices for each faction when possible and at the same time make sure they are different from one another.

I also imagine the Stealth X from its description would not have shields as good as the standard X-wing. Besides the shadow bombs, glop bombs and bunker buster bombs should be fun to :-D

GUNBOAT, naturally.

V-wing for scummies

Eta-2 for Imps

N-1 for Rebs

And for large base: Guri's Stinger, delta class transport from the space sims, and skipray blast boat

I'd be down for the N1 as well, especially with Leia piloting it as it was featured in the comics.

I would think of it something like this

2 - 3 - 2 - 2

Focus - evade - barrel roll - boost

EPT + Torpedo + Astromech

dial - A-Wing with a green 5 and with red hard 1's

differentiates it enough from an A-Wing without target lock and the torp/astro upgrades present.

I got the Metal Earth version of Krennic's Delta. I tend to use that one as a Lambda whenever possible, but an official release would make my day.

Otherwise, I guess the I-7 Howlrunner would be a strange, but cool addition, as it would give Imperials a non-TiE- Fighter.

In that same vein the V-Wing would make for an excellent early-Empire fighter along the stat line of an M-3 or something, but then maybe I just want to toy around with astromechs. It would look really cool to pit it against the rebel ARCs though.

I was actually just thinking about this sort of idea. I like the idea of having the prequel ships be brought in under the current factions and not as Republic versus Separatist.

I like the idea of the Imperials getting some non tie fighters as well. That's why like GrimmyV I think the Imperials should get the Eta-2 Actis-class interceptor. The Empire kept a few of them for their more deserving pilots and it can have an Astromech droid.

Another option for the Imperials could be the V-19 Torrent as the empire still had a few outdated units on the far outer rim equipped with these. I always imagined such units being similar to Reserve and National Guard units where they mostly get old hand me down equipment.

Snowspeeders, Bespin Cloud Cars, and T-16 Skyhoppers.

Sep trifighters and other clone wars era ships including Jedi star fighters

We almost certainly won't see any TFA-era Legends stuff, given that the sequel trilogy is a thing and has probably significantly rewritten the Skywalker and Solo children.

I am amazed we haven't seen the assault gunboat. They went for the TIE Defender pretty early. The Gunboat would be a great addition. 3-2-4-2 with several Missile and Torpedo slots. Make it like a cheaper, bomb-less Punisher.

I believe there may be a short thread discussing this somewhere.

The N-1 and Naboo cruiser would be interesting - it feels like an epic ship which should have a "port" and "starboard" rather than "fore" and "aft" sections...

The Shadow Droid I'd love to see. It does have a very different aesthetic to other imperial ships, because it's very much a 'sith' creation rather than an 'imperial' one.

Ability-wise, "the force" has generally been represented by focus-related shenanigans (Rey Crew, Kanan Pilot, Luke Crew & Pilot, Kyle Katarn crew and pilot) - although that's very much the light side - the Inquisitor, Vader and the Emperor all have very different abilities.

To be honest, I'd really love to see the TIE/Droid fighter, and you could have the TIE experimental "remote fighter" and Shadow Droid prototype as variants (they might have used a spare TIE/d chassis for the brain in a jar before they designed the 'proper' shadow droid.

I'd love to see a TIE/droid swarm - I have a mental picture of a large ship base with three to four droids on the base, acting as a single ship (stats changing as it takes damage)
