Elite Han and Leia or Elite Leia and Han?

By DJRAZZ, in Star Wars: Destiny

Which way do you guys think is best. I built this deck for my wife and she has been playing Elite Han with good results. But I have seen many decks with Elite Leia. So am I missing something?

Thanks,

Han can survive better than Leia and has a bit better die. I think he should always be the elite when using the pairing. Barring a deck stacked with 'spot a red character' or 'red character only' cards that make her die more effective. I don't think there's many like that out there right now. Add in Leadership and she can reroll Han, so he's really the workhorse of the pair, in my opinion.

I agree.

IMO:

eLeia advantages

More damage sides than Han, so more consistent damage, and better for modified damage (re: Guns and Jetpacks).

The extra red dice means you can justify running some other cards, the big one being It's a Trap. Going from base 2 damage to base 4 damage is pretty huge with that.

eLeia is likely to be targeted first, which gives you more times to set up with Han and draw into Second Chances - Han's the better 1 die 'anchor' compared to Leia.

eHan advantages

Higher damage potential on Han

eHan is more likely to be targeted first, which gets more mileage out of your Ambush effects (if they don't go after Han, you get to 3 shields and he's blank until they start shooting him)

If you're not running eHan, I'm not sure he really earns his points at one dice.

Personally after playing both ways, I honestly kind of prefer playing eLeia, but I also find then that Han's not amazing.

If you're playing Han, probably best to pair him with eRey.

If you're playing Leia, probably best to pair her with Ackbar or Mon Mothma. I think Mon Mothma is slightly better with 2 focus sides, but Ackbar's ability for damage could be pretty relevant some games.

If you really want to play Han and Leia, Abyss has good points.

I just played a couple of games with eHan. I do like the fact that I seem to have more resources which the deck relies on greatly to resolve much of the range damage. If it were not for that one thing eLeia would be better. I did feel better having them go for Han because of all the target red character cards in the deck as well.
