That is a pretty lousy ability for 10pts..... i'd much much rather have the range1 melee especially since he can multistrike

It takes your white die to having a 33% chance of what is essentially a 2 hit result and a 50% chance of having a 1 hit result.

It's a shame that you can't take Reaping Blade at the same time. That would be guaranteed damage on both dice with a good chance of either a double damage or mortal strike coming up. Reaping Blade does work with Sweeping Strikes which might be a nice combo.

Like i said in an other thread, i think there is a mistake on this image from Edge for upgrades. It would be 2 Uniques, 2 Artifacts and 2 Champions (both type, one cavalry and one infantry).

new terrain, exciting ?

I almost expected Hawthorne to be a Calvary upgrade. That would be a new twist. Still he seems pretty powerful just like Meagan power level. I am scared of 4x1 Calvary with precision upgrade.

i better hurry up and finish painting, I can't buy anymore till I'm done

He is a cavalry upgrade figure.

So he can go into Calvary instead of infantry? So cool!

Yeah, he can likely do both.

So we can run both Kari and Hawthorne at same time, does one have to be a unit upgrade. The rule is one unique per 100 points right?

Is there a limit if you run one as an individual unit, and one or more as unit upgrades? Or is the limit 1 unique per 100 points, whether they are unit upgrades or not?

I'm also a little bit concerned on the points cost of running two of them as individual units anyway... using 1/3 of your army points on just two units, albeit good ones, impacts the points you have available to make other units effective. Not a problem, so much as a trade-off.

"Each army can only include one unique unit for every 100 points. So, for a complete 200-point game, each army can include up to two unique units."

This is from page 3 of the rules reference, under "Characters." The use of the phrase "unique unit" indicates to me that having a character as a figure upgrade does not count toward the 2-unit limit on unique units.

I agree I think I'd run one as a separate unit and one as a unit upgrade.

i like that depending on the choice your army changes significantly

Where does it say on the card whether a unit is unique or not? I must be totally missing it.

The underline under the name, denotes unique unit

The section in the RRG on "Unique Names" supports that figure upgrades wouldn't count towards the limit.

RRG, pg. 20
"86.2 An army can only include one unique unit for every 100
points allowed in the army. Unique upgrades do not count
toward this limit.

Sweet, thanks @WWHSD !

I'm a bit confused. Break it down for me, will you?

Can I take Kari, Heart seeker, and Reaping blade at 200 points?

Really liking Hawthorne over Kari.
Hes both a badass on his own and he lets you reform your unit formations. 4wide calvary? yes please!

There are unique units, such as characters, and then unique upgrades. As far as I understand it, you can only have 2 unique units. You can have as many unique upgrades as you want, in theory, except that each unique character only has one unique slot each, which would limit that in practice.

Yes. Kari is the only one of those that is a unit. Kari (and all of the other heroes so far) have a unit version and an upgrade version. The upgrade version is not quantity limited. You could have a 200 point army that includes Kari (unit), Lord Hawthorne (unit), and still take a Greyhaven Channeler (figure upgrade).

You can only ever have one of the same unique name even if they are different types of cards.

Unique means you can only have 1 of that particular unit/upgrade in your list period. The only limiting factor on how many uniques is unit-bound, you can have as many unique upgrades you want assuming you dont use any of the same unique upgrade twice, even between different units.

Heroes being slotted into the unit trays are vastly weaker than their standalone counterpart, which is probably why they specifically call them out as NOT counting towards the unique-unit limit.

edit: that was poorly worded....lol....
Essentially, unless they are on their single-tray fancy stand, you can have as many heroes you want, just no dupes. If theyre on the stand and on their own, you can only have 1 per 100pts.

Any name that is underlined with the wavy line is unique.
