That list is righteous, it's pure damage. Kath with Expertise, Dengar, and HLC, Boba with Homing Missile, Extra Munitions, 4-LOM, and Fearlessness.

So let me get this straight: two Firesprays, both without repositioning mods, capping at PS8 without an initiative bid, are currently 4-0?

This is why I love to hear about Worlds. It's also why I'll never play at one.

This is exactly why I am going to worlds. Day 1B, how many knee jerk last minute list changes will we see?

I ran a list similar to this when scum first came out and it was the best list I've ever ran.

Unfortunately it became worse as newer and better ships kept coming out.

They can hit hard, but without something like feedback array aces can really ruin your day by arc dodging you.

I'm wondering if it's doing well because aces, especially imp aces have fallen off a bit because of Sabine.

Big fields a 4-0 is like 2-0 in smaller events. Let's see if it keeps winning.

It's doing well because the opponents aren't used to facing it.

No Attanni Mindlink either. It's almost blasphemy.

Why would you mindlink a 2 ship list?

He played against a list with 2 aces. He killed them in back to back rounds.

To be fair, the Scum aces are not nearly as shifty. They typically have more dial open, but less repositioning available, so those big Firespray arcs are harder to dodge. Add in the lack of Evade action and those 4-hit attacks are putting on serious hurt quickly.

Firespray-31 OP.

This is a joke but the Firespray needs to be nerfed ;P

Is Julian from Mexico City? I'm pretty sure I played against him at the System Open in San Diego running a variation of that list. He flew it really well.

I can't wait to see the inevitable "why are Firesprays sold out" complaints as people suddenly, and independent of any outside influence, decide to try a list featuring a second Firespray. PURE coincidence though.

I'm fairly sure I've only come up against the dual spray list once in the past. Solid list. Gave me a lot to think about in the hands of the very good player who had it. Only very narrowly lost to it, but really enjoyed it. More of this, please.

I might drive up north to buy Julian a beer. Awesome! Slow clap

I love it when someone pulls this type of not-meta list off. Lets people feel like you can be creative and play your thing that you know and it can have a solid chance

edit: not saying it's not a good list, btw.

I'm not sure this applies to the Worlds. It's a big field, yes. But a field consisting of the best players in the world. 4-0 there seems like a pretty big accomplishment regardless of the list.

@Brunas thats some krayt level disrespect right there

Ha, I updated at work, it wasn't on at the time -- and I didn't update the OP when I came home. The link is in the thread though!

I imagine it also has something to do with his skill level :)

Anyone know who went undefeated on Day 1?

Firesprays are doing well cause their weakness has been PTL arc dodgers and TLTs. No arc dodgers at the moment, and the aces right now are jousters (Protectorates, S/Fs).

So the Firesprays make range 1 a bad idea on ships that like range 1 by adding fearlessness and Kaths rear arc fully modded. Range 3 for protectorates is countered by 4 dice attacks with no range bonus in Homing Missiles and HLC. No evade token means 4 hits is at least 1 guaranteed damage.

I like the idea. Miranda could give them major problems. As could something like RAC w/ Kylo and Whisper, blind pilot twice in a row on boba is essentially game over.

Overall, it was a good decision and meta call by Julian.

Anyone know how the firesprays finished?

Or how John Grasser fared?

Grasser went 4 and 3 and didn't make the cut, gold squads facebook has all the standings pages up......

I think the Firesprays were flow by Julian Alcantara, who went 5-2 based on that sheet above.

Grasser is where he belongs, not in the cut.

I am bit disappointed with the quality of the stream! I would love official FFG stream with dice cam and all. Don't want to offend great guy's that do stream for us, it is very nice and I do appreciate it very much!
