This thread is to report and discuss the results for the 2017 X-wing Worlds tournament. FFG Worlds is the highest level of X-wing Tournament play, and takes place at Fantasy Flight Games headquarters in May for the 2017 season and onwards. The tournament hierarchy is:

Due to the schedule shift in moving the Star Wars games to the May track effective this year, there are no Store Championship or Nationals feeder tournaments for 2017 Worlds, so no players will enter with a guaranteed first round bye.

FFG will be streaming top 16 and up, so we should have 3 of the top 16 games streamed. Top 8 is where it starts getting weird with timing, though if they actually get started with the cut at 1 I should be able to stay till top 4. If we make the cut, we'll just get a different flight

It would certainly not be a first time that the winning squad is what dominates the meta, but teched in a way that allows it to tackle itself.

We did, a 20 point FO lol. We traded that Tie for a Ghost, 4-5 Y-Wings, and a Miranda. Then instead of playing it out they decided to call it. It was a hard situation for them to have success though. Neither of them had Epic builds ready and were thrown together at the last minute and didn't know each other. By no means was it proof of anyone's skill in X-Wing haha

How does a "Team" epic game work? You both have a set of ships to fly, but are on the same team? You (as a team) decide how to move a fleet of ships?

I'd assume it's a Destiny rule that's been copy/pasted over without anyone thinking it through.
