The Ned -thread got me thinking about all the interesting different unique character cars we have in AGOT...

Question: What are your favorite unique character cards, and why? All Ned, Shagga and Jaime opinions are welcome!

Side Note: I wonder if anyone would be interested in having a sort of unique character card showdown here in the forums? A sort of poll in a different form...First collect a list of liked unique character cards, and then pair them off against each other in 1 vs 1 voting competitions, until we are left with the greatest and most loved of them all! (Fat Bob?)

PoTS Red Viper for both the ned, jaime and shaga player in me.

Ned = fav character from the books.

Jamie = immunity, renown, tricon.

Shagga = him and lost oasis....slightly jaimie too but oh well

Fat Bob was more fun in the old printing. The colors on the Core Set card are more muted than his original printing in Ice and Fire, where he was a very vivid indigo and purple. It was a lot more fun calling him "Grimace" when it applied, imho.

For me it's King Robb (Kings of the Sea), Red Viper (Princes of the Sun), and Euron Crow's Eye (King's of the Sea). Yep, I like my uniques.

We don't know that. Since we haven't yet got our "epic" character, or found out which house got the Minstrel's Muse, he might very well be in this cycle of chapter packs.

Imagine Lars's face when he opens his CP and instead of Old Bear Mormont he's looking into the eyes of HoTh Tywin! Lord knows, I cast every vote I won for bringing that card back and I don't even play Lannister! I just wanted the danger of it in the card pool.

From the books, Tyrion is easily my favorite character. My favorite character to play was always ITE Red Viper, followed closely by Ghost of High Heart, ITE Varys, and now Shadows Tyrion. I have a weird phobia of playing Tyrion, though, in this meta with Valar.

I am much less attached to particular characters than I used to be (which I'm not sure is good for the game in some ways) and I hate to see Tyrion die. In one sense, it's easier to protect him in Shadows, but he's not doing you much good while he's in there. And Shadows characters are harder to dupe/protect once they're on the table. Sure, you can wait until your opponent resets, but often that cuts down severely on the utility of that character, one of the practical limitations of Shadows, I guess.

It's a hard thing to say. What would be cooler an announcement saying "Hey, the winner of the Legenday Character contest is Bael the Bard, and he'll be in the fifth chapter pack of this cycle," or opening a chapter pack and seeing Lyanna Stark staring back at you. Some votes I think should be announced lke which crest will get the love this cycle. But as far as reprinting or not reprinting a card, harder to say. I'd even be happy with "In the Rising with the Tide chapter pack, players will finally learn if the House of Thorns Tywin Lannister is back in the game...or drowned forever under the waves." That would probably be the coolest way, to let us know that the answer is coming, that our votes mattered, and still builds up some extra hype for the pack.
