I basically got an across the board tie. No more than 2 point difference between my highest and lowest ones, well within the margin of error.

I have to wonder why the Dragon color scheme is presented as being silver and pink rather than the green and yellow they have traditionally had.

So, for funsies, I wandered through this bad boy-

1. Phoenix (duh), with the bonus that their playstyle legitimately sounds like it'll be my kind of weird janky fun.

2. Dragon. No surprises there, lorewise, but I'm always wary of building super-units,'cause... well, nobody's so big they can't be erased.

2. Unicorn. Fancy that. I was never a big pony fan in the past, to be honest, but I love mobility tricks.

4. Crab. About right.

4. Scorpion. Lorewise, they tie with the Dragon for my second-favorite Great Clan, but I really don't think their playstyle is for me.

6. Crane. Bah. The Lion deserved better of me!

7. Lion. Dead last. I enjoy their lore, but their art has never been my go-to, and the deck style doesn't sound like my kind of fun.

It's a shame we don't have the old Which Clan Are You quiz anymore now that the AEG L5R site is gone. I remember that giving me good results. Does anyone know if a version of that is still around anywhere?

I found the old quiz , but it's not a functioning version as it's just a cached page.

Thanks for the feedback. That image was from one of the Dragon cards, but I think you are right that they are usually green. I've changed it out with this one .

Sweet. Nice find. Shame it doesn't work.

The pictures are an improvement, but they're unlikely to do Lion's standing vs Dragons any favors on my list.

Well, if you could figure out which clans relate to which answers, it wouldn't be that hard to piece it back together. I don't have the clan knowledge to do that though.

Surely each clan has a scale on each question? Or you think it's that simplistic? I suppose it could be.

Those are the Clans I'd associate with the 'Strongly Agree' option of each question. A more in depth write up is going to take me a while.

Thanks for doing this. I've added it to the sheet as a "Personality" tab and factored it into the results. BTW, Crane 8 and Scorpion 1 were both A-D. Was that a type? Did you mean I or something else?

No that was intentional. I wanted to show more variance than I though 'Indifferent' would imply.

For the Crane they typically take what they feel entitled to through political action and they and the Lion have a series of border castles that they conquer and reconquer in the course of their feuding. But I think they tend to see themselves as so above it all that they'd deny that that's what they'd do if given the opportunity.

For the Scorpion while they ultimately seek to serve the greater good (as they see it) they also routinely engage in the sacrificial, face-saving politics that made me give the Crane an 'I' for 1. And the Scorpion tend to do so with less remorse than the Crane.

Oh and I just tested the new version of the spreadsheet and it still works great for me.

I really like the changes you've made thus far to the spreadsheet. I like, especially, the art you've chosen for this version. I'm especially happy with the new art you've chosen for the Dragon and Lion clans, as they are much more colorful and visually interesting than your previous selections. I also like that you made all the options be on a 0-4 scale, as on the 3-1 scale it was hard to articulate with precision how much I agreed with each option. I also like that you added a "personality" section, as for me clan philosophy is THE reason I chose to follow the Dragon. I'm sure people will continue to give suggestions for improvement and that you will continue to refine your spreadsheet--but overall, great work!

Dragon's still number 1 for me, but Phoenix and Unicorn changed places again. Guess I'll just have to try both :). The other clans?...I'll try them with time, they're all about the same priority-level for me right now.

Currently, I'm reading up all the lore I can about the faction, if anyone knows any interesting personalities from the faction, please recommend me away.

That's interesting as most people that played the CCG/RPG say the quiz is a bit pointless as it's too easy to tell which clan is which. I've been trying to make it more generic. Even thinking of making the lore completely generic and the artstyle random non-L5R images (same colors, but pictures of animals or flags instead or something).

Then again, even if you can work out which clan is which, if you are honest with your answers, you should still get good results.

Concentrate on the 5 masters.. lots tends to happen around them (except poor Taeruko!).

Favourite and obvious stuff: Isawa Tadaka (Earth master and thunder and even gets his own Oni), Isawa Kaede (Master of void and more!), Isawa Tsuke (Master of Fire), Shiba Ujimitsu (Clan Champion), Shiba Tsukune (next and greatest Clan champ); (My favourites) Shiba Ningen (next Master of Void) and Isawa Nakamuro (Master of Air)... later Isawa/Doji Akiko, Shiba Aikune, Isawa Hochiu, Ochai, Asako Bairei... and so the list goes on. The first couple mentioned is a good start...

If you're already familiar with the lore and have opinions of all the Clans I don't think the quiz is going to tell you anything you didn't already know. But it not for those people, it's for newcomers who want to figure out which one they fit in.
